warm thoughts and prayers
Hi Melissa,
I'm sorry to hear what was found during your husband's surgery. I also sent you a PM- so you may want to check that.
Have they ever discussed a peritoneal chemo wash? I'm not sure on the spelling, but it's a heated chemo that they bathe your abdominal cavity with for a few minutes (1/2 to an hour, I think). I would ask about it & inquire elsewhere if they don't do it where your husband goes.
Do take care-

So sorry
I'm sad surgery didn't go as planned. Right now Brant needs to focus on healing from the surgery. While he is healing you can explore other options.
Your family is in my prayers.0 -
Sadness
I am so sorry the surgery did not go as you would have liked. It seems you just can't catch a break. You are at one of the best hospitals so hopefully they will come up with a new treatment plan in the coming days. We are new in our journey here so I don't have anything to offer by way of treatment. Please know that you are in the thoughts, prayers and hearts of the people on this board. Tina0 -

Dear Melissa,
I am sorry to hear about the cancer they discovered during Brant's surgery. I have read his Caring Bridge site and you are an amazing family with so much love and strength surrounding you. I am praying for your wonderful (and very funny) husband. Let all your family and friends love on you.
Prayers and aloha to you,

Heart Breaking
News. However, don't lose HOPE! My sister was dx 03/09. You can read it under my profile. She also has mets to liver and peritoneum. She was to undergo liver resection but cancelled due to it spreading to lymph. Now, after 3 months on avastin, her abdominal tumors are no longer showing up on the pet scan and the lymph node activity and liver tumors have died and/or shrunk! They have gone 180 degrees in optimism and her onc. thinks after 6 more months of this regime, she can have rfa or resection on her liver.
I don't know where you live (is is really CA?) I can point you to all the specialists we have seen in CA.
Happy Holidays and all my prayers to your beautiful family. Your caring bridge brought tears to my eyes, it is soo eerily familiar. Marie0 -

I am sorry your husband's
I am sorry your husband's surgery didn't go well. You all will be in my prayers. I have no answers to your question. I'm at stage 4 more surgery won't help and because I'm a kras mutant no chemo has worked. My Dr. has gotten me into a phase 1 trial at www.startthecure.com that is what I'm doing. My best to your family.

So Very Sorry
Melissa,
I too am the wife of a stage 4 colorectal cancer survivor and I was so saddened to read the post of your husband's recent surgery. You, your precious son, and your husband will be in my thoughts and prayers. I was so touched by the caring bridge site at how special your husband is and how wonderful you, your son, and your family and friends are. I have no advice to give but I am sure you are at one of the very best places you can be for expert care.
Warmist wishes for a better future.

Hi Melissa
Thank you for posting the link to Brant's Caring Bridge site. It sure sounds like you are surrounded by love and support in New York.
Tough news on the cancer spread. What's next... I think Ryan said it well in one of his recent posts... Recovery and healing from the surgery will be the immediate priority. Sounds like you are in New York for another couple of weeks. No doubt that will also give some time for the team at Sloan Kettering to consider some options.
I'm so sorry it wasn't better news.
Peace and blessings... Rob; in Vancouver0
