Hi All - I finally got my results of my CTs and the news was not what I would have liked. Besides an enlarged lymph node in my pelvis, I also have a tumor in my spleen. My Oncologist gave me a choice ... I could go directly back on chemo (carbo/taxol gave me 3 year dancing with NED) or I could elect to have surgery and then go into chemo. I chose the surgery/then chemo rout. I knew I wouldn't be happy knowing I had tumors that could have been removed and I also think that this rout gives my Oncologist a chance to find anything else that might be small and removable. I was diagnosed 3C/4/2006 and did great after my inital chemo. Can anyone tell me if how they have faired after a recurrance?

Hi Mwee, I think when you have had such a great remission I would have made the same choice as you and expect you well do just as well. I know others have had a remission, then another surgery and chemo and another remission. sure they well be posting. Hugs ♥ Prayers Bonnie

I had eleven months with no chemo and a gradual rise in the CA125. My spleen was removed at my initial surgery and it has not harmed my immune system (its a big lymph node). My three liver tumors were burned out with radio frequency ablation and they have not returned. The CT shows only one tumor on the sigmoid colon. It is shrinking to "not feelable" by gyn/onc after 4 carbo doses. and my CA125 has gone from 243 to 53 after three doses. Saundra

    Thank you!
Hi Bonnie and Saundra... (((HUGS and THANKS))) just to know you're there is a comfort and I know you know how that is. I'm tough and during the day I'm running around gathering "stuff" I'll need once I'm homebound, making plans, etc... it's the middle of the night when my mind starts running. I use audiobooks to help to get back to sleep. Has anyone else tried that? Maria

    HELLO, MARIA
Sorry to hear you must deal with this again, but I believe you made a wise choice. Removing whatever is there first then chemo makes sense to me.

In 2000 I was stage 1C, had surgery then chemo. I had a recurrance in 2006, another mass removed and repeat of chemo. I'm doing well today, and will head for a CT scan and doctor appointment in a couple of weeks. I hope he will confirm that all is 'clear'. I can see that you've already received great responses and I'm sure you'll get more.

Keep us posted. Sending oodles of hugs and prayers your way - will wait to hear from you again!
