Elevated CEA test

inflammation maybe?
Has your CEA been a good indicator for you in the past, Julie? From what I understand, CEA can become elevated because of inflammation in your respiratory system.
I'm praying that your PET scan comes back completely clear. Please keep us posted and let us know when you get it scheduled.
Prayers and positive thoughts!

this is a link to a discussion on another forum- seems there is a new reagent being used in cea tests and resulting in significantly higher numbers that are not corresponding to clinical observations.0 -

MY DOCTOR STOPPED TAKING MY CEA 3 YEARS AGO. MINE NEVER WENT ABOVE NORMAL,AND I WAS FULL OF TUMOURS- MY DOCTORS JUST DON'T SET TOO MUCH IMPORTANCE ON THEM. SCANS ARE MORE RELIABLE
GOOD LUCK
