Wow--so much to handle!
Wow, Pat--you have so much on your plate! I can see that you are really working to stay strong and positive, yet it must often be difficult when it seems never-ending. I love how you say, "Look at what I've handled this past year!!!" Yes, look at what you have been through and survived, and you are still a strong woman!
I'll put you and your doctor in my prayers tonight, and I'm betting that your doctor won't hiccup at the wrong moment!

I appreciate your kind words, and yes, look what we've all been through and still going through. Nobody ever promised a rose garden, and nobody said it was easy growing older, so as long as we stay the strong women we are, we can handle anything. Although sometimes you want to just bury your head in the sand. Like I said to my friend last night, I'm tired of rolling with the punches. But we do and will continue to because life is too precious to give up on. Blessings on all of us!
Thanks! Pat0 -
Whew! A full plate!!!!
I'm sorry so much is happening to you right now, dearheart!!!!
But, as far as the cataract surgery...I have been the driver for many people (lol...the curse of living to an older age) and, truly, it IS fairly easy...the only thing to remember is...listen to the doctor about aftercare!!! DO NOT bend down for at least 24 hours...puts too much pressure on the 'new' eye!!! And rest. You are right, it IS a vital part of your body...so a day off isn't going to hurt!!!

They have been doing
They have been doing cataract surgery for years so they should be pretty good at it. My son went in a few years ago and had Lasik done when it was fairly new just so he wouldn't have to wear glasses. I tried to talk him out of it but since when did kids listen to their mothers? It turned out fine so he was right.0 -

just had cataract surgery and she's doing great! She too, was legally blind - over 2 months they did both eyes and she doesn't even need her glasses/contacts anymore - just readers. You'll do great!
-I'll keep both you and your brother in my thoughts and prayers - how lucky he is to have you for a big sister!
much love,

I know that it's much easier said than done to just stop worrying, but do try as much as you can to focus on the positive things you know.
You are strong and can handle even this overflowing plate. Your life right now reminds me of a saying I've seen: "I know God won't give me more than I can handle, I just wish he didn't trust me so much!"
I will keep you and you brother in my thoughts and prayers. Please let us know how you're doing when you get a chance.
Take care,

I had cataract surgery in both eyes about 4 years ago. Now I have lens implants, have nearly 20-20 eyesight after wearing glasses since I was a teenager. It's been a real blessing and I hope the same outcome for you. Let us know how you're doing.0 -

I will be praying for you and your brother this morning. It sounds like though you took your mom's words literally- she knew what she was doing. You are a great big sister, the best care you can give a loved one when you have no control is prayer. And you put the pink warriors on it! My dad and aunt both came through the cataract surgery with flying colors. Just rest and follow those instructions!
