Today is my one-year cancerversary....
I think I found ACS that very evening, but I didn't start to post for a few weeks. I want to thank all of you who had such an impact on my life during this past year. It is not an exaggeration to say that you and this site have been a life-saver.
For all of our new sisters: it's a rough road, but one that you will travel on with the help of family, friends, and your sisters here. I wish you all the best.
All my love,
Mimi

Chemo will go by and then you, too, will be celebrating a year cancer-free. Good luck today, and let us know how it went.

Congratulations!
Congratulations on achieving your first year, Mimi! You're a model of courage here--facing the fears and moving on to the future. I thank you for your encouragement as I follow the road into my own future, and I wish YOU all the best!

One down, MANY, MANY, to go!!!!
You are such a wonderful, strong, giving person my dear, and I wish you many, many years of peaceful and blessed living!!!!
It was probably the longest year, and the shortest year you have ever experienced, at least it was that way for me!!!
Before you know it, you will be celebrating 5 years, just like me!!!
Hugs, Kathi0 -
Congrats, Mimi, on
Congrats, Mimi, on celebrating one year. You're a wonderful support person with knowledge from experience and I'm just glad you didn't abandon the board once you were through your treatments. I always enjoy reading your posts, like a couple of others on here. Wishing you a lifetime with our favorite guy, NED. You so deserve it!!!0 -

Congrats!
Isn't it a great feeling to be able to say, "a year ago.....". I reember too being told by the surgeon that the biopsy was cancerous. You feel numb. That was a year ago October 23rd. My last visit to the surgeon I took my camera and took a picture of the exam table, where I was sitting when he told me. Isn't it amazing what you have accomplished in one year and your postings have been so helpful to all of us. And to those who are just at the beginning of their journey, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Even though it seems so overwhelming, it does end. Things go back to "normal" and life goes on. But if we can spend an hour on this board and help even just one person, then its worth what we went through.
Congratulations Mimi on your cancerversary and every year to come. You are truly blessed.

One year down and many,
One year down and many, many, many more healthy ones to come. You are such a asset to this group. You research, advise, and have a beautiful calming effect with your words. We are indeed blessed to have you, but I wiah you had never had to be here. I think a nice celebration is in order. Lunch or dinner and maybe presents. Oh, and ice cream. I know you are the healthy eater but still today could be the exception.

Congrats Mimi
It was a long rough row to hoe wasn't it. But you made it and with flying colors. You have been an inspiration to all of us. You have certainlly done your home work. Lots of times I look for your answers to certain questions because you are so knowledgeable.
My surgeon also called me at work (with my permission) to tell me the results. I just left work and went home. My concentration was gone for eternity.LOL

Congratulations ... and ... I knew we'd been travelling along the same path this past year ... but it didn't really dawn on me that it really was a year the end of this November when I went for my mammogram and "got the news." It sure has been an "interesting" year ... hasn't it? Nothing in our wildest imagination could have prepared us for our journey this past year. Like you ... I could not have made it without this discussion board and the wonderful people here ... who share their knowledge, experiences and support. Those cyber hugs are the best! They got me through some tough times ... and I know they did you too Mimi. This is a journey none of us want to go on... but if we must travel the road at least we are not alone.
Big hugs to all ...

what a year it has been for you
Mimi, congrats on making it through your one year mark. Crazy wasn't it? With surgery, chemo and radiation, it usually takes up almost the whole year, then you start to feel a bit adrift when all the docs let you go for awhile.
Good going for you and I know you will continue to give such wonderful support to all on these boards. So go do something crazy, and celebrate!

on making it through this year! Wow. You can enjoy Thanksgiving and the Holidays without the treatments this year. Congratulations and thank you for your insight and encouragement for those who follow behind you!
I hope you can get out and do something fun tonight or in the days ahead to celebrate this milestone. May you have many more!
