edited March 2014 in Ovarian Cancer #1
Hi All,
I've been a "lurker" on this board and have gained so much strength and support from all of you. I finally decided to join the blog in hopes that my story might help someone else. I was diagnosed 4/2006, while undergoing an emergency operation for a hernia. When the surgeon opened me up, he suspected that I had Ovarian Cancer. A couple of weeks later, I had the second operation, there was spread to my bowel wall and I was staged as 3C. I had 6 chemo treatments with Taxol and my counts remained "normal" for 3 years. Last spring my CA-125's (who would have ever imagined that blood test would ever become such a huge part of our lives!) began to creep up. A couple of weeks ago I discoved an enlarged lymph node near my pelvic bone. I've been to get a CT scan/MRI and I'm awaiting the results. Wouldn't you know that my Oncologist is out of town this week and I have to wait till Monday to get the results and see what's next for me on this journey. ((((hugs))))

    WELCOME
So sorry to have to wait all weekend for some answers. I know how difficult it can be. But at least you and your physician are right on top of things, and not leaving anything to chance.

Please check back in with us next week and let us know. Till then. . .

    Lots of (((HUGS))) & PRAYERS!

    Welcome, MWee
Glad you decided to join us. We can use your experience. I am Stage IV, diag. 3/2007. We all seem to have to wait on something, sometime or other, so we know the feeling. Best to go out and do something fun, movie, eating, playing in the park etc. Since it has been so long since you have had Taxol, you may be able to take it again. I am on carboplatin again because it had been 18 months since I had it. It really works on my cells as Taxol did for over a year. I currently have a tumor (not felt in the pelvic exam this week) on my sigmoid colon (lower left side). That was all that showed on my last CT scan in August. Welcome to our very lovely group of women and come back often and let us know how you are doing. We care. Hugs, Saundra

    Welcome New Girl!!
Hello our new friend. Sucks we meet here but at least we have this wonderful place to come to at anytime for whatever reason that moves us. Let me tell you first hand how wonderful this place is and how much it has helped me through my ordeal. I was diagnosed as stage 3 December 4, 2007. The women here are absolutely wonderful and so compassionate. Whenever I've been at my lowest point I come here and write and automatically I feel so much better and so much better still when my Sisters write in response. This place is so full of love which over time you will experience this. Think possitive my darling for Monday's results, it could be just swollen from a cold or flu, think of any other reason but "that". Please let us know as soon as you can the results ok?

God bless you and all the rest of my Sisters. Always come back here ok? With lots of love and prayers coming your way.

    Linda
