Longer post
I had a much longer post typed up but hit a wrong key and lost the whole thing.
I have mixed feelings about being done with rads. I'm glad it's over and I can finish healing (my skin can get back to the "new" normal), but I'll miss all the people at the center. I cried when I was leaving today and got hugs from all the technicians - they said they would miss seeing me (I'll bet they say that to all the middle age crying patients).
My husband talked to the same patients in the waiting room every day while he waited for me. We will miss seeing them every morning and at least saying hi to them.
Although I didn't enjoy all the time it took each day (one hour drive each way) I did like spending that time with my husband. We work opposite shifts so we don't usually see one another too much each day. I've spent more time with him in the past five months than I have in the past five years. I will miss that.0 -

Yeah...you made it through! Doesn't it feel good to be able to close another chapter? After the next two weeks (rads still working on you!) you will be on the mend. Congrats!! ♥Pammy
great accomplishment!
Now take care of yourself radiation will be working for another two weeks.
From my experience I found that I have been feeling better if I take tamoxifen in the morning, no night sweats less hot flashes, better sleep.0 -
Congratulations on finishing
Congratulations on finishing rads! Remember that the effects will still be working on you for a while, so take it easy & don't push yourself.
Aren't the techs great? Mine all hugged me & gave me a mug, joking that the only way to get one was to get cancer. They have an annual Christmas open house & everyone is invited.0 -

Congrats Wolfi on finishing rads! Be sure and keep using your creams for a few weeks as you are still "cooking."

woo hooo!!! congratulations on being done!!!! I do better taking Tamoxifen at night; I had terrible headaches when I took it in the morning. We're all different. Experiment until you find what is best for you.

Good for you! I know when I had my last chemo I felt a little sad - kind of like I was being turned loose - being on my own. As much as I didn't like the chemo - everyone there was so comforting and I felt I was being "taken care" of while I was there. Who would have thought I'd miss my chemo treatments? Although, just like you, it was the caring, loving people we met along that journey who made the difference for us.
...take good care of yourself - I didn't have rads but from the posts here it sounds like it takes a few weeks to get back up to speed.
I've been on the tamoxifen almost 2 months now and it's going OK - mostly hot flashes.
Celebrate! You deserve it!
much love,

And make the time with your hubby....and for yourself!
If there is one thing cancer taught me (and the heart disease with my beau that followed it), is that life waits for no one....you MUST live it while it's there!
