    Your allowed
Hang in there. I feel your pain (or should I say your cold and an assortment of other side effects). No way to get around it, oxy is nasty. You'll be done before you know it. Stay strong.

    Oxy
I wonder if what makes it really bad is that you do it before surgery with radiation and then following surgery, where you never fully recovered from first round or operation and now you're (or I am) doing oxy, etc again.....It was nasty while combined with radiation 6 months ago and I dread it two days from now whileI'm still weak from colostomy. But whats the alternative?.....Steve

I finished oxy last June. Yesterday I got my journal out to have a look. Can't read it...just looking at the cover makes me sick!

    I agree
I'm having a lot more than the "normal" issues with oxy. I'm having a lot of trouble with my face, jaw, neck, eyes and right hand. I am INSISTING that they drastically reduce the oxy or stop it all together next round.

No pain in the hands, just very clumsy (right is way worse than left). I can't count on it to hold things and typing is hard. It locks up.

Lots of pain and twitching in my face and head. Not fun... lips feel swollen/numb, so I'm always worried about drooling. Twitching and pain in my eyes.

No trouble in my feet - go figure - that was my biggest worry.

Not too bad with cold as far as hands or feet. But if wind hits my neck or face - that is really bad. And I can't drink even room temperature w/o pain - it needs to be body temp or higher.

    What a crazy drug!

My body detested it so much that I developed a strong allergic reaction to it!

    Oxaliplatin...My take
It is as Patteee says, vile, nasty, disgusting, makes ya wanna puke, freeze, walk funny, hand cramping, lip numbing, sorry tasting, libido killing, gag inducing treatment I have ever had the pleasure of being able to receive. I wouldn't have it any other way. Without wading through the suffering from the treatment, we could never appreciate the good it does for us...it is that that makes us Warriors......

    I'm lucky
I am not on this drug, but I have been reading here how awful it is.

HUGGS to all of you dealing with the awful side effects...I pray the suffering brings you to healing that you all deserve!!!

It is all of those things
It is all of those things and more. It was so poisonous to my system that I had an anaphylactic allergic reaction to it after my 3rd treatment and ended up in ICU! The good part is that it seems to work - they did a CT scan when I was admitted to the hospital for the allergic reaction and the tumor had shrunk by 40% - only after 3 treatments! Unfortunately for me, I had to change over to Cisplatin - which is nasty in its own right!...but my tumor is gone and I have my PET scan tomorrow - hopefully I will get remission for the holidays this year! Even though it seems like the lowest of lows sometimes, you will make it through this - like Buzzard said, it makes us warriors.
