I love your new do. It will be much less traumatic for you. I think this is the worst time during treatment. Good luck.
I will definately check out the pic, but in the meantime, enjoy your new doo and pat yourself on the back for taking a step forward.0 -

Laurissa!! Yeah, I'm not looking forward to the fall out phase.

Just love your new hair-do.
The falling out phase for me was the worst but others dealt with it just fine. After I shaved my head I was fine.

You look great!
That style looks awesome on you!
I'm sure the next phase won't be easy on you, but you're taking such a positive attitude into it, I know you'll come out on the other side smiling - at least eventually!
Take care,0 -

Sherria... unfortunately my
Sherria... unfortunately my monitor is really dark (it's a dinosaur, but as long as it continues to work, I refuse to replace it), but I can barely make out your pic. I'm sure it looks great! I couldn't bear longer than one morning of clumps of hair falling out. I had one day of strands of hair falling all over everything, and the next morning, when I took a shower, I had my first blob of hair come out after rinsing it. I didn't want to bear that not one more time. My long time friend (more like my sister as I've known her since I was 3) is my hair stylist and happened to be away in Florida for the week. I knew it was going to happen this week as today was my 14th day after my first chemo. Sure enough, it started happening yesterday. But everything truly happens for a reason. I needed a good wig as I HATED the one I ordered. I went to a local wig shop and tried on at least 20 wigs. I asked them to buzz it right then and there because I couldn't bear another moment like I had in the shower. They buzzed it to probably less than a half inch and I'm very happy. I've heard of women that didn't buzz it all the way off keeping some of it, so I thought... why not? I think I can bear losing this over losing the long strands. I may opt to buzz it all the way, but time will tell. Right now I feel GREAT! I feel very much in control. Yes, it's just another hurdle... of which there are many along this journey. It's very strange, but it helps us see ourselves in another light. Cutting our hair short would have been something we may NEVER have considered and yet we do it... because we are strong and we won't let the beast win! It feels great to beat it!!
Stay strong and stand proud!! Mar0 -

The pic is even dark on my end. I may have my daughter take another in better light. She was just sooooo excited to take one!! She has been my friend, nurse, photographer, and will probably be my hairstylist!!! I will be buzzing mine as well, just never have had anything other than long curly hair for over 25 years. Just small more comfortable steps for me.
Your wig is beautiful and if I hadn't known, would have never guessed either!!
Thanks!!!0 -

Wow your new do looks great!! Yes you are stronger than IT. You might even want to consider keeping that hairdo when all this BC treatment is over and done.0 -

Natly! I know, I've had long hair my entire life. I am considering, depends on the regrowth when all is said and done.

The hair cut is so
Sherri
The hair cut is so cute and so flattering on you. I know that total hair loss is around the corner for you, but when it grows back in, I think that this cut is great on you. Your hair is lovely long as well, but maybe you will want to do something different after all your treatments and your hair is back. Like the New You. You have a good positive attitude and that is great. And you know we are all here for the good, the bad or the ugly parts of all of this. Glad you have your wonderful daughter to be with you through this. Mine was such a comfort to me.

Girl that look is great on you! My hair is shorter than your new look and as soon as that magic day 10 -14 hits (November 16-20) my son will buzz cut it for me. I may have it done in 2 stages - larger setting for a few days and then last setting.
I did get a wig from ACS that is close to my grey color but it is longer than I'm use to. I'm going to see if my hair dresser can style closer to my normal style. I'm not sure that I will be able to wear one here in Hawaii. It gets so hot. I did try on some red ones but they didn't look that good on me. Maybe a light auburn.
The holidays are sure playing havoc with my every 3 week chemo schedule. My next one would fall on the day after Thanksgiving and they aren't open and I can't come in earlier in the week - doc says too soon. So it will be on the following Wed, Dec 2, then Wed, Dec 23. I had hoped to be have it the week before so I could enjoy Christmas a little. Oh well, so be it.
As long as we keep things to baby steps and work our way into the process maybe we can be more prepared. But to want to grieve another lost of our makeup as a woman takes time and that's OK Besides - I've always found bald men sexy shouldn't we be the same. Lola0 -

I agree 100%, bald can be sexy!! I wanted to do something radical and extreme for me and believe this was it!! Especially since it will only be for a few weeks. I have my 2nd appt with onc on 11/16, to explain my "cocktails & schedule". We were awaiting the results of sentinel node biopsy, which the results will be in on Monday! Once I get a date for 1st chemo, I will be scheduling my "buzz cut" within the first week. I do not even want to see one strand fall out into my food, on my pillow, or anywhere else for that matter.
I assume my chemo will begin to play "havoc" on my holiday schedule as well. But, we do what we have to.
