This is ALL of us......beautiful
A mighty wind blew day and night.
It stole the Oak tree's leaves away
Then snapped its boughs and pulled it's bark
Until the Oak was tired and stark
But still the Oak tree held its ground
While other trees fell all around
The weary wind gave up and spoke
"How can you be still be standing Oak?
The Oak tree said "I know that you can
break each branch of mine in two
carry every leaf away
Shake my limbs and make me sway.
But I have roots stretched in the earth
Growing stronger since my birth
You'll never touch them, for you see
They are the deepest part of me.
UNTIL TODAY, I wasn't sure of just how much I could endure
But now I've found with thanks to you
I AM STRONGER THAN I EVER KNEW...........

What a beautiful tribute to all of us
I downloaded it and have put it in a picture frame for myself. This is something that I need to see each and every day to remind me I can beat this thing no matter what it throws at me. Thank you so much for sharing. Lola0 -
How interesting you would
How interesting you would write about a tree! A fellow CSN member ( sadly, we lost her to the Lung Ca Beast) who was a published author, asked me to collaborate with her on a poem. She had an online mentoring site, and was such a lovely, sweet soul. I was honored and humbled to contribute even a small part to her efforts to reach out to those of us doing battle with the beast. Her website is www.thecancertree.com. And from there, if you click on A Poem Grows, you will see the poem she and I lovingly did together. I miss her dearly~ we met in the Chatroom here at CSN and she was indeed a Kindred Spirit of the highest calibre...
