Update
And sooooo....Surgery is over. Layne did exceedingly well. They found the tumor, cut it out. Found the node next to it that was the one that make him stage IVa...it was hard as a rock, and the surgeon said "The radiation had done its job perfectly." He took all the nodes near that and under that. Then he went up to the chest and checked that. Took all the nodes there. He checked the liver and other organs, nothing. Checked the lungs--found an old nodule that gave us a cancer scare a few years ago, that had been followed for 2 years. Took that out--cancer free--it was scar tissue.
Layne did so well he is going to recovery then to a room on floor 7. Now that is awesome. Even more of a miracle, the surgery was exactly 6 hours. NEVER has Layne been on time for anything before. Until now. You know that is God working!
Thank you for all the prayers, please keep them up, and know that we feel them just like we can feel the Houston rain.
Praise the Lord. God is good. All the time.
Amen.

Layne had a little bump in the road today when his epidural moved a bit and quit working as well. However, the surgeon is still praising him as he is still walking, coughing, doing his breathing exercises. Right now, he is resting.
Thanks for all the support!!!!!0 -
ANOTHER SURVIVOR HOORAY HOORAY
Betty,
I am so excited for you sounds like layne is moving along, him and Jeffs surgery took the same amount of hours, and the epidural well he will move and get along faster than if he had it, glad he is up and walking eating and breathing exercises, as you recall Jeff had a harder bout due to his lungs and them having to deflate one of them, that is where he had his problems, after we got that resolved he did great, I guess I didn't provide Big BOY Underwear for him in time, I am so happy and as Mumphy and I said the WAIT is worth it, We are going to have more survivors than patients, but of course we still have K-ANN's dad, Wilgoose, and Donna 70 still needing our help, so we still have lots out there, Please know we are here for you.
I guess my BIG GIRL PANTIES have really helped everyone get through surgery.
Take Care
