    Welcome to our strage family!!!
Hello Aud, My name is Brooks and I have stage 3 rectal cancer. I have went through 6 ½ weeks of chemo and radiation and then on August 13 surgery to remove the tumor. Surgery went great and the tumor showed NO signs of cancer left from the treatments but now left with a iliostomy.. Now I’m at home recovering from the surgery and have done 4 out of 9 treatments of my final round of chemo. Remember to stay strong and contact any of us if you don’t have anyone else to talk to. We're all here to help anyone else we can. I know it’s tough. We're a family in a strage little way and we help eachother through our daily ups and downs. I would be lost if I didn't have these people to help me. Come here often and read the posts. I have days I'm so down I could cry. But I come here and read posts and even answer some of them. It helps!!

    Again welcome to our family
    Brooks

    Welcome
    Dear Aud,

Welcome to the greatest support group ever. There is always someone here for support, comfort, wisdom you name it. I didn't come here until recently and sure wish I had known about it during my treatment. I'm Stage III c, 8/32 lymph nodes positive, resection
Oct.17, 2007, chemo for 6 months. You will have many different emotions and experiences. Everyone is different but it's always nice to know how others handle different situation and know you are not alone. You will find this to be a very warm and caring place to come. No one understands as much as someone who has gone thru the same things.Feel free to ask any question - no need to be shy - this is the one place that "pooh" stories are the norm. LOL

So happy you found the forum. I will be praying for you.

    Blessings to all,

    Debbie (gramma)

    Welcome Aud,my husband was
Welcome Aud,my husband was diagnosed with rectal cancer stage 2 in May.He went through the chemo and radiation, surgery, and now more chemo. All the treatment has gone well, the patholgy report after surgery showed no sign of cancer left, but for insurance,my hubby just started adjuvant chemo today.Don't be afraid, sometime we are just overly worried. You will get through the treatment fine. After you finish all the treatment, when you look at it back,it is just going to be a bad memory and you will leave this behind and go on your life.If you have any questions and I know the answers,I would like to help you.Good luck to you with all the treatment.Take care.

    Good luck
I too started with Xeloda (plus oxy via port)and radiation for stage 3. Be ready for a rollercoaster ride but you must think positive, be as strong as you can(and this regimen WILL make you stronger than you were before)and do what you can to minimize side effects, which hit each of us differently. Your doctors shoulod help here, as well as the experiences of the people here. Hoping you have as little discomfort and the best results possible.....Steve
