not so good CT report

Well I thought I was doing good with the clinical trial and Doxil. Sides weren't too bad, feeling good, food tastes good, could be almost normal. Went on our long awaited/postponed family vacation last month and was great. Then had my 6 week CA 125 and CT scan last Mon. Finaly got the reports back today-the CA was up and the CT showed my overall tumor/lesions went from 18.4 to 24-more than the allowed 20%, so I am dropped from the clinical study. The research nurse was shocked as both I and she could see and feel my one tumor was going down-we thought. The CT shows it went from 1.7 x 1.7 to 3.4 x 1.7. I don't get it. My dr is going to be upset also when he gets back in town. I see him on Mon. for regular appt. but can't have my treatment. Then we'll talk, I'll try to figure out what to ask of what and why, and see what the new 'game plan' will be. I'm trying to stay positive but seems like when I go someplace to have fun and think all is going well, then I get knocked back on my backside. I don't want to feel bad but it seems so strange, guess it can be true, that you feel good when it's not good inside you. I had plans to go on essiac tea after treatments to keep down, not te Hoxsey route, but then this came up again. Still not sure what to do. Of course the dr's just say chemo, which seems best on one hand to knock it down and then something to try to keep down. Been tryng the juice thing for more veggies and fruits which is pretty tasty. Will see what he has to say on Mon. and trying to not worry-too much.

HUGS
So sorry to read about the trial, but glad you had a nice vacation, sending prayers for peace and calmness as you wait out the time for next appt with Doc. I know sometimes I have gone from treatment to treatment to treatment and then walla something magically works just when we thought all has stopped. So I just know the dr has another plan for you.

Sledgehammer between the eyes
Sometimes news hits us hard, but there will be another chemo and it may just be the one. My oncologist says there are lots more for me to try. I am back on carboplatin since it has been 18 months since I had it and it seems to be working for now. CA125 coming down, have not had another CT Scan to verify but I feel good most of the time. No pain where the tumor is on the gut, anyway. Hang in there, it will get better!
