Congratulations!
Isn't it good to be done? Congratulations! ))
Regarding the Tamoxifen, we're all different but I just want you to know that I started it a few weeks ago and it's been better than i thought it would be. Yes, I've had some hot flashes, they're really more like warm flashes, and some other things, but all in all, it hasn't been that bad. As with most things, the dread is worse than the reality.
Congratulations on being done with rads! Go and celebrate this weekend and breathe that sigh of relief!

It scared me too ... still does at times. I wrote a blog about it. It's a lament, really. I had my prescription a week before I finally started taking it. I started with 1/2 pill in the morning, 1/2 at night ... that didn't work for me because it gave me headaches ... switched to taking the full pill at night and that has worked a lot better for me.
You'll have to figure out what works best for you.
But for right now, don't think about it!
Just focus on celebrating being DONE with rads! ))0 -

Congrats Aurora on finishing rads! Doesn't it feel good? Now I have all of this time and I am still not for sure what to do with it. lol Still waiting on hubby to tell me where my celebratory trip is going to be and when. I am hoping somewhere warm! You celebrate as you deserve and earned it!
Still use your creams and still get lots of rest!

Glad the rads are behind you now ... and as you said ... forward to tamoxifen. I wasn't too thrilled about it ... wasn't thrilled about side-effects people talked about ... so I'm taking 1/2 in the AM and 1/2 before bedtime. It's only been about 3 weeks ... but so far so good.
Take care ...
hugs.

Aurora, congrats on finishing rads! Be sure to keep using your creams & get plenty of rest.
I have been on tamoxifen for 2 1/2 weeks, so far, so good. I am taking one pill at night.
I have had hot flashes, but I was having them anyway, so nothing new. Good luck!0 -

You have passed another milestone and will soon hear the words "No Evidence of Disease!!"
For all you kind words of encouragement, I really appreciate them.
It seems alot of us have moved on to the Tamoxifen trail, it will be interesting to see how we all do. I'm going to ask my doctor what she thinks is best as far as the dosage goes, I'm leaning toward half in the morning and half at night, but I'm not good at taking medicine......... so I guess we'll have to see, I definately want the least side effects posible.
Still scared but ready to give it a try, my doctor really seems to think it will make a difference.
God Bless you all!
