Has anyone had surgery, clear PET and CT scans and still gone on "maintenance

I think it is extra insurance
To make sure they kill the cells that don't show up on the scan. You would hate to say down the road, if only I did the maintenance chemo. Good luck! Marie

    Maintenance is not 'clean
Maintenance is not 'clean up' chemo.

I thought maintenance is the term used for 'keeping it status quo'. Mop up or clean up is looking for cells that got loose and were not removed during surgery.

I'm sure some of our more knowledgeable members can help.

    I believe...
It's just something that keeps the disease in check, to "stabilize it" as my doctor put it, till it doesn't work anymore, then move on to something else that will.

    Hugsss!

    maintenance chemo
What is the lowest dose simplest maintenance chemo you are on?
I am not talking about the heavy duty "adjuvant chemo" they do right after surgery, I am referring to what docs call "maintenance" for those of us who have had many rounds of "adjuvant" and are finally scan clear,.............any thoughts here?
