Looks like you and I are on the same lap. I'm having dreams about eating all kinds of stuff. Wifey-poo said "If you think of anything you wanna eat, go get it and try." Had pineapple and cottage cheese today. Cottage Cheese will take a little getting use to. Had a ham and cheese hot pocket awhile ago. Went down pretty well. I'm eating lots of Chicken Noodle soup and Vegetable Beef. Puddings and Bananas are also a staple. Anything to get rid of this dang tube.0 -
John
Glad to hear the great news, you are right taste will all start to come back now and get better everyday. My problem was ketchup could not put it in my mouth till about 6 months after now I love the stuff. I hate to say this but Ruth is right; now you need to start working, but take it easy not too much at one time; give your body a chance to build its self up little by little.0 -

I'm still waiting and its driving me crazy. Interesting that they did it six weeks out. I get my first scan on the 30th of this month. Soups are doing well for me too. I have had good luck with cereal and oatmeal. I might try a salad tomorrow. Cottage cheese is yummy and goes down easy. Taste buds still very bad. I'm on week three post DX.0 -

Stay the race ratface, soon you will be one of the old guys here. Give the taste buds about 2 months or so after the last treatment, they will come back. It might not be like before but you will get uses to the new normal you0 -

Apprciate the encouragementh Hondo. So did they compare your scans and make a determination. Have you been following the Gerson philosophy?0 -

No it seams like they don’t know what to do, I will do another PET in December and compare it to my 2006 and 2008 scan if nothing has changed then I think the best option it to leave it alone, why mess with something that is not growing or giving problems.
I will let you know the out come in December for now I have too much life to live to worry about it. I am going to Tampa next week for a conference meeting on computerize maintenance and plan to enjoy the trip
Thanks again0 -
good 4u

Glad for the clean scan...I had my first about two months or so ago, also clean, no signs of cancer. I have a CT coming up in November, hopefully that will be good also.
I didn't have a PEG, but during the worst period of about the last two weeks of radiation and a few weeks after...The period when all I was surviving on was water and Ensure Plus..(after taking pain solutions)... I remember watching all of the food channels, best burgers, paula dean, best BBQ's in the south...LOL...If I could have drooled I would have been a mess...but as we all know, there's not enough saliva to even swallow, let alone drool...LOL.
God Bless, and may all of our future scans be clean.....

Congrats John
My husband has his first scan Thursday and I hope we have good news too. He had his PEG removed three weeks ago, even though the DR's didn't want to remove it he talked them into it and I think it really helped his mood. It also made him push harder to eat since he had no other options. He lost a total of 30 lbs and so far has gained back three so not too bad. He is eating very well, and taste is improving. He still can't drink coffee. Good Luck to you and Congrats!!!0 -

you sound just like my boyfriend. although he never got the tube. He is surviving on Ensure and water as well. He may very have lost as much as you by the time he stops the treatment.
But he loves food, and loves to cook, and watches as much food stuff on tv as possible just dreaming. He too would be a mess if he could drool.
