Any Melanoma Survivors using Alternative Therapies?

Hi, I was diagnosed in April '09 after a lymphnode in my neck swelled up. It was removed and tested pos. for melanoma. There were no melanoma specialists in my area. I had to wait a month to see one in Chicago. I have been interested in natural suppliments for some time now, and luckily my father in Law took the time to look up items specific to our diagnosis. Metistatic Melanoma. One product in particular, Ave' Anyone heard of it?

    Hello,
    My husband is starting treatment with Lomustine (chemo) and radiation (again) tomorrow, and
    since we live in Norway there is no clinical trials suitable and no other medical treatment.
    So we have been in touch with cancer research, medical university and oncological dep. in Hungary and have been given this advice: Take Avemar (fermented wheat-germ-extract-based medical nutriment) along with chemo or radiation. Recommended as a supplement in cancer treatment in Hungary. It is no medicine but hopefully it will keep him otherwise healthy. Is this the `Ave` you are thinking of?

    Yes, that is exactaly what I was talking about. I have been taking it for about two months now. You know I have been waiting for about 3 mos. for someone to respond to my post! Thank You! And GOD Bless you. I have also been taking MAITAKIE mushroom extract. All alternative & homeopathic books highly reccomend it. I am at the end of my ropes. I am otherwise healthy, I have a series of scans set up for next week. I pray that they are neg. My insurance has declined any coverage of clinical trials. So I am bummed. I was all set up for a vaccine therapy. It would be 700.00 a pop, for around 15 shots. I am praying for GODs guidance and His Will be done. DAVE
