I sent this to CSN feedback---maybe it will make a difference???:

Hi---you may have gotten this info already but for that last few days the
Esophageal cancer area of this web site is getting unknown posts from
"anonymous" or "username 32", but they are spam like---hitting numerous
posts at once and almost seeming nonsensical. Also--one can not respond to
them directly for some reason.
It is a shame, because important posts that day were ignored because of
all the nonsense going on... it may seem a light-hearted joke to who ever
is doing it, but for those looking for info or support at such a critical
time in theirs or a family member's life---it is a Shame!
How can we prevent this apparent mis-use of the web site in the future?

It's a spammer
It happens to nearly every message board once in a while. We have had a few doozies at the one I moderate. I think the administrators here were right on it when it happened. They did a good job of cleaning it up, which is all we can really ask.
Even with restrictions in place to keep spammers out, the reality is, message boards like this are open to the public, and much like people who you public parks and leave graffiti, there are a few bad apples.
The best thing to do is to hit "report as offensive" or "alert" (depending on what the message board button says) so the moderators know there is a problem quickly.
Sad really, that even boards such as these are prime targets for these types of people.0 -
p.s. regarding deleted accounts
When an account is deleted, all posts attributed to the account are deleted. If the deleted member has/had the last reply in a discussion thread, it attributed to "anonymous" on the discussion board page--although there is no longer a post there. I can see where this may be confusing to members.

Thanks to all of you who flagged/reported the spam. The member's account was deleted and we're looking to how this can be prevented in the future.
