MAJAW, I have gone with a
MAJAW, I have gone with a camisole, rather than a bra, because even a sports bra cut right on top of the lympectomy scar. It has been a year and a half since my surgery (April 2008), and my radiologist suggested I try the camisole. The one I have found to be most comfortable is found at Walmart, and is called "Sweet Nothings" made by Maidenform. They come in white, beige, and black. They are soft, and offer enough support that I wear them under sweaters with no problem. Also, they come in a long length so that you can tuck them into your waistband, rather than cut you at the ribcage. Good luck on finding something that works. I don't think I will ever go back to a bra. Hugs.

I still can't find a comfortable bra; what I've done (because my size is fluctuating), is I've gotten an expander for the clips. That way, if I'm not swollen, I can just clip it smaller or let it out when I need to.
I found a Bali bra at Kohls that I just love. I had a lumpectomy so my boobs don't quite match ... and the Bali bra I found has the slightest bit of padding so it kind of evens me out ... and it has NO underwires. I love it... especially since I'm a hard size to find 40C. Oh and one more clue to finding the bra I'm talking about ... the bras have those "petal" inside to cover the where the nipples are.
I love these bras!
hugs.

lots of articles i.e., bra, camisoles, etc.
that will be helpful during treatment and after
surgery. i've ordered the camisole
to be used during radiation treatment.

I have not worn a bra the entire time I have been going through rad. I just wear a tank top under my shirts.
I cannot tolerate wires, I can't find anything in the stores that is NOT underwired and a size 40D (at least on one side) There are so many really FAT women here in Canada, I can't believe that the sizes only go up to 36B..........CUMMON! These women are HUGE! Where are the Bra's to fit?.... OK I am a 40D on one side, and a load of padding on the other side (Maybe 32a?) I went through all the posh stores last week, nothing over 34B and nothing that wasn't underwired..........Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh Painful or whaT?0 -

I am large --38 DD--and I had to wear a bra during rads (I am a middle school teacher!)
I sized up to a a 40 DD in the Just My Size cotton bra--very comfy. I am still wearing them & don't think I will go back to any other kind. Also, when my skin got really bad at the end of the rads, I padded the band & cup with a large square of white flannel folded double.
I got the Just My Size at a local discount store. Also, at the radiation office, on just about my last day, they had an ACS catalog with bras & camis, but by then, I was really close to being done.
You can order the Just My Size cotton bras over the internet if you can't get to the store.
Hope you can find some comfort.0 -
