why can't you ask for the doctor to call you? i think it is time to demand that his doctor, the one who diagnosed him to call and give you a little personal time. he can trouble himself to explain what is happening to your husband. in fact, assertively let his office know that you expect a call from him! hospice will offer comfort to you as well as your husband. they can guide you if this jerk of a doctor doesn't get in contact with you. you are in charge!0 -

I agree with sue. If hospice has been contacted you should at least know the reasons why from your regular Oncologist. There is no reason to leave you without answers at this point. If it takes getting someone mad then that is the way it is. But you and jack deserve better treatment. Blessings to both of you Slickwilly0 -
Hospice, etc.
First, I want to assure you that Hospice does help. In fact, I just got off the phone with our Hospice nurse concerning my husband's increased pain. They are always available to talk to you by phone, and our nurse comes regularly. We also have a Hospice social worker who helps you get the things you need.
Now, about the onc. I agree. Call him and make a pest of yourself if needed. I know our onc. had to be prodded to be as I put it "brutally honest" with us. I think it can be hard for them, too, but they chose this profession and honesty goes with the territory. Hang in there. I know you are doing everything you can to help Jack. He knows that, too. Like my husband says, "Today's a good day. I woke up." Prayers and hugs. Fay0
