Anal Cancer

I'm new at this so bare with me, please. I was diagnosed with Anal Cancer (stage II) on June 3rd, 2009 at the age of 35. I've been married for two years with a one year old son. I've gone through chemo and 28 treatments of radiation. I finished my treatments and now playing the waiting game. The big question still lingers in the back of my head about the "Big" surgery. To have or not too have? That is the question. The hardest part of the waiting is staying strong for myself and my family. I try to take it one day at a time but I'm still praying to God for patience.
Is there anyone out there who has been through this? Looking for some insight.
God Bless

Anal Cancer
Hi Alysha
I just finished treatment 3 weeks ago for anal cancer. I have to wait till Dec to know if they got it all. I too think about the "surgery" but to be honest I don't dwell on it. I will deal with it when and if the time comes. In the meantime I continue to pray and think positive. Our cancer is rare, but it can be CURED!!! And it can be cured with chemo and radiation and no surgery in many cases. So let's pray that we are in the group and stay positive. I too have been blessed with a good man who has been my tower of strength. We have a lot in our favor and that is what keeps me going. From the picture of your precious little boy I can see that you have another wonderful reason to think positive! He's adorable.
There aren't many people who have this type of cancer so it's hard to find a network to share experiences. Please feel free to reach out if you need to talk. My email address is ldeli@comcast.net
Stay strong and trust in the Lord!
God bless,
Liz0
