david, sounds like it is
david, sounds like it is pretty good for you right now. congrats! i am a caregiver and it is always nice to hear that the patient is finding joy in life. it gives all of those out here that haven't reach that point yet hope. my husband is a nearly 10 year survivor of brain cancer and enjoys his days doing sudoku and reading audio books. yes, we all learn through hard times and must remember to take those times and run with them. best of luck and enjoy that grandchild they are the best!0 -

sue,i look back over the past ten years and realize how blessed i've been by having such a good caretaker my wife sherri.i have a feeling that some spouses could not handle all the things we as people with cancer have to go through and i'm sure your husband appreciates that you have stood by him through all he has been through it takes a strong person to be a caregiver, in my eyes my spouse basically has the cancer as well as me because of all she has gone through with me.cancer has made me stronger and closer to God!i'm ashamed of not giving my life to Him years ago that it took something like cancer to make me see the light.i am doing pretty well hope your husband is too,it was nice to hear from you.keep in touch and God Bless you and your husband and family.0 -
Nice to meet you David. I
Nice to meet you David. I had a brain tumor removed in Feb 2000. It was the size of a soft ball, and had been growing for a number of years prior to that. Mine caused a lot of problems, but after 9 years, I have learned to cope with them. Facial paralysis and deafness (in one ear) are just a few. I just found out at the end of July that I had breast cancer. But, I am happy to say that I am now cancer free. My point to this is that I have learned through both experiences not to take life for granted. Be so grateful that you are gifted with another day. I know I praise God everyday. Maybe not as much as I should! He has blessed me with 3 beautiful childern, Cody, 15, Alexa, 8 and Jacob, 5. I work full time as an insurance agent. I don't have a lot of free time, but when I do I like to spend it reading. Not much for the great out of doors, lol. It sounds like you have walked a really rough road. I will pray for you, and you just hold onto your faith in GOD. He can bring you through anything. He is a truly amazing God!
Take care and God bless!

Thank you, boe62 for all of your prayers. Yes, He is the great physician. If you don't have him, then you really don't have anything. My faith and love for my savior has been the only thing to get me through these hard and troubling times. All we can do is keep the faith, and keep praising HIS NAME. By the way, that is one of my favorite songs, have you heard it? Praise His Name by Jeff and Sheri Easter? If you go to youtube and type in their name, it will pull up some videos by them. That is my favorite, and also Thread of Hope. Please check them out, if you have never heard them before, they are awesome songs, and have such meaning. They really touch me.
Thanks again, and take care. May God bless you!

I am a caregiver
Hi,
I am a caregiver for my 18 year old son, Michael. He has been recovering from an astrocytoma and has been cancer free for the past five years. I have just written a book and my daughter created a website. It is www.michaelsjourney.net. It is an inspirational story. I hope others can be inspired and I bless all of you. Hope you remain well.
