Just make me cry!
I'm glad this waiting is over, until the next hurdle, I will be sure to live life to it's fullest.
I came to work straight from the doctor's office and just got a call to stop by my sisters on the way home, "Oh it's crying time again." I know the whole family will be there, something about a quick dinner/barbeque, in the middle of the week, yeah, right!
Thank you all. God Bless...0 -
Great news overall, so gladNana b said:You all are just awesome!

Hi Nana,I am so happy for you that you are NED.I am sure your liver problem will be solved soon. It's great for you to see your whole family soon. Please enjoy being NED and enjoy life, life is good.0 -
Congrats! It is so excitingNana b said:Hi!!
Great news and not so good news...I have no evidence of disease, so that is great news!! NED, yes! The not so great news, I still have an abscess that is trapped in the liver. Remember that high fever I had a couple weeks ago, that is why. So, I am on antibiotics again, and the liver surgeon in San Francisco should make a determination in the next week if they need to cut it out or just drain it! I wil have an ultrasound soon and my next scan will be in two months.
Overall I am VERY happy with the news. Keep your prayers and great vibes coming my way.
Thank you and always thinking of you guys/gals! Raquel
Congrats! It is so exciting reading about a few of you here that have been declared NED this week! Thanks for sharing with us. It is the biggest inspiration for the rest of us continuing our battles.
I hope your abcess resolves without too much trouble for you - you've gone through enough already.0 -

glad to hear it
Hi Nana, (Raquel- it's good to know your actual name now, but I still think of you as NanaB!)
Anyhow, I'm sooo glad to hear you've been given the NED news!!
The abscess isn't so great, but it can be treated and sounds like they're working on that. I'll pray it can be treated by just the antibiotics and perhaps a drain, without having to slice you open.
Thank you, by the way, for writing on my thread to cheer me up. I'm doing better and I'll reply back on my thread later- I have a busy day ahead of me- my PET/CT scan at 10:00 (Calif time), then on to pick up my son and take him over to the charter school we're switching him to for a placement test.
Talk to you later & again, hearing your NED is so great!!

The oncologist called me today and they are going to drain the abcess on my liver with a catheder (SP?)early next week. This is good news, I was not looking to a third surgery in one year. Hopefully they prick the right spot and not mess up!0 -

Chock this up as another one of those "minimally invasive" procedures. Don't worry they WILL prick the right spot and NOT mess up! Don't go borrowing trouble!
Good to hear you are spared the major surgery. Be hopeful of a good outcome next week.

Hi Nana,I hope the drain will go very well next week.I agree with Rob,compare with other surgery this is just a very small invasion.Anyway you are in my prayers.Good luck to you with the procedure next week.Take care.Hugsss.0 -

I got a call from my oncologist today and he met with the radioligist who insists that I don't have an abcess afterall, but after affects of the sugery, scar tissue. The ONC was very excited to deliver the news, but I on the other hand wonder why my liver surgeon said that he could drain the abcess in SF if need be. Why would he say that, didn't he look at my scan!?! So now that I am thinking about it, I am going to call my liver surgeon and ask him to get second a opinion!! I love the news but what if?0 -

Well, you've certainly been round and round with all this, haven't you? Let us know what your second opinion says.
I'll be praying for a great answer!

Hi Nanab,
I think scar tissue is very doable. You're wise to follow up but it sounds like the good news keeps coming!!! Wonderful!
