oncologist results tomorrow

Praying peace...
Laurissa,
I will pray for both you and your husband.
Shake off the guilt about taking tomorrow morning off! You need the time to process what the onocologist is going to say to you. You may want to take a notebook so you can take notes of what the doctor is saying. I've read on here that some women take a voice recorder and it's such a good idea! That first onocologist visit can be overwhelming. So much information given all at once!
"Cancer" is one of those words that we fear hearing the most. But know that the odds of beating it are better than ever before. There IS hope!
Hugs and Prayers,

Yes, sending my very best wishes...
That all will go well for you tomorrow. Fear of the unknown is the worst fear of all. No matter what comes out of your appointment - you'll have options to think over, or a plan in place.
Hoping for the best possible outcome for you.0 -

I know it's easier said than done, but try not to stress yourself out over the appt. Look at it as a relief, you are getting answers and will now have a plan-your first step in slaying the beast within you! As I received my information, I found it helpful to research the diagnosis, the different meds being used, side effects, etc... and also asked ?'s here or read others experiences. This way you know what to expect. I start Chemo next week and I already have a list of things to eat, drink, and what to use for side effects. I'm ready! I know how you feel about Hubby! My mother is that way. She feels that it's better to be prepared for the worse.(like how much worse can it be?!) Thanks to these women here I have developed a positive attitude in this-that energy will rub off onto them. You can't change the way he thinks, but maybe you can just tell him you need for him to think positive for YOUR sake! This is what I requested from my mom & she agreed that(for my sake)she would! And hey! No quilt allowed! YOU and your health are most important right now!
Let us know how it goes tomorrow.
Prayers & Hugz,

Will be thinking of you today.
And yes,we're the patients, but it seems like often(and it was in my case sometimes)that we end up holding up-or trying to-those around us!0 -
Good Luck
I will say a prayer for you today. Stay positive and let your husband know that you need some support this is not the time to feel guilty for anything. People will understand what you are going through. No worries just focus on what's the next step for you to be 100% cured, that's all that matters right now: YOU!0 -

Whenever someone says something that doesn't support my healing, I say, "Cancel that thought!" It really works to shift the conversation. I had a college roommate who said, "God forbid!" Most people don't realize how negative they are so pointing it out helps them, too. I'm a cup half full kind of gal and I won't let anyone rain on my parade. I think women are more resiliant than men anyway. My surgeon said that if my cancer showed up anywhere else in my body then it was terminal. I said, "You mean it's not currently curable by known medical treatments." She agreed.
Whatever you find out, there is always hope. It is the beginning of the journey but definately not the end. We'll be here for you.
Good luck tomorrow!

My thoughts and prayers......
are with you for your results tomorrow. Waiting is the hardest part. So you will find out your chemo plan? That is good. Then you can move forward with getting rid of this beast cancer. My prayers are there for your husband too. Let us know your results.

Hi Laurissa
Dont feel guilty about calling off work tomorrow...If there is ever a day you need to be off its tomorrow. You will both feel better once you know your treatment plan. You will feel more in control somehow and you can take action. Please let us know the plan, if you are doing chemo or radiation, or what meds you will be on. We will be here to help you.
Hugs to you both

My pet scan came back better than I anticipated, nothing found in other organs, but some spot showed on my hip, so I had an MRI done this morning and will find out what it is tomorrow. Tomorrow is also chemo class and I'll find out what I'll be given. Chemo starts Monday. I hope I have all details tomorrow. The waiting is getting to me.0
