Day 20 of Sue's Rads
The throat cancer lady is pretty pink so they gave her some new cream that seems to be working for her. She said that her "pinkness" was pretty sore. I feel sorry for her. But, she is so nice and I know that we will remain friends.
They had a new receptionist today, a temporary fill in, and she was so confused and I think disturbed by all of the talk and laughter in the waiting room. lol We always have a good time in there.
I am getting tired, more so than normal. And, I do need to try and get more rest and take naps.
Hubby took me to an antique store today and bought me two each of the most beautiful tea cups and saucers. I love tea and I love china! I love them!
Hope everyone had a great day today!

Sue, you are really counting down to the finish line now. You don't have that many left. I am glad that you aren't even pink yet, but, you probably will at least to some extent.
And, GET MORE REST! You have to understand that rads are killing your good cells as well as your bad cells and that is making you tired. You need to rest to keep your strength up.
Congrats on one more down!

Thanks Susie! I will try to rest more. I have been having some trouble sleeping at night though. I took a sleeping pill the other night and it helped. I just hate to rely on meds to get sleep. We had a lot of friends that came out this weekend to see me, so, I didn't get a lot of rest then.
I have a feeling that I might be pink by tonight. lol Hubby is putting a bet on it. lol

Are you really putting your creams on thick Sue? Do you have Biafine? That is what my rads oncologist gave me besides the Aquaphor. I hope that if you do turn pink, that you don't burn at all. Some do and I feel sorry for them.
What a great husband to buy the china for you. You can treasure those always now.

Yes Lex, I am putting my creams on very thick. Hubby makes fun of me. He calls me his little grease monkey!

LOL that is so cute. His grease monkey!

Hey Sue. I think I was pink by my 4th or 5th week. Nothing bad, but, a little pink. I was lucky as I never got the burn as some do. But, I am a sun worshipper too, so, maybe that helped a little. I like your husband's nic for you. Glad you are doing well and that it is going fast for you.

You are on the slide now. Soon to be done! Take your sleeping pills if you need to. Sleep is so important. I can't stress that enough Sue.
I hope the throat cancer lady will find some relief. I know they have lots of stronger prescriptions than what I took to help people that burnt.

How long do you keep your shirt off after you put on your creams?
I put my creams on after I get home from my zapping and put one of my hubby's shirts on then. So, I leave it on until the next morning when I take a shower. I use a lot of the aquaphor and it is really, really greasy, so, I wear one of my husbands old tshirts or an old shirt of his. It is kind of cool here now, so, I would freeze if I didn't wear anything on top. The grease mark does come out of most of his old shirts, but, it doesn't really matter even if I have to throw one away. I was told to not put anything on my skin 6 hours prior to my treatment. I also use Dove soap. That was recommended by my rads oncologist. And, I am very careful when I wash that area. I am very gentle.

I just threw away the tshirts that I wore. I washed them while I was still doing rads, but then, why bother. Out with the trash. haha
I hope the throat cancer lady that you talk to will be ok Sue. I know I saw a woman that got pretty badly burnt, but, they gave her a week off and some new cream and she did fine. That is why it is so important that your rads oncologist sees you every week.
Good luck to you and glad you are feeling better from your bronchitis.

My bronchitis is better, not gone, but much better! My oncologist said that since my immune system is down and even more so since I am taking rads, that it just will take longer to completely get over it. Just have to be careful. Thanks Diane!

Hey survivor! Yes, I like the sun too, always have. And, I used to go to the tanning booths too before I got bc. I might try going back next year to them. Not for sure. Ofcourse, all of my doctors said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! lol

You are doing so well Sue. It won't be long and we will all be celebrating the end of rads for you. I bet you can't wait.
You are helping a lot on here. I hope you know that.
And, can I borrow your hubby? I would like some new china too. haha

You cannot borrow my hubby. lol He is mine, all mine! He is a keeper though, isn't he!
I am going to celebrate soooooooooo big when I finish zapping. Hubby already has something big planned, but, won't tell me. Hmmmmmm, I wonder if I can get it out of him. Nah, I like surprises!
Thanks for your support and good wishes Leeza.

Sounds like your doing well, Sue. The tiredness is acumlative, so you will feel this way for a while. Unfortunately, nothing to help except rest. Each treatment is one more closer to finishing. Hope it goes quickly for you! ♥ Pammy
You are doing great Sue! You will probably get more tired as the treatments go on, so, rest when you can. I found naps help a lot. So, if you can during the day, take a nap.
I hope the throat cancer lady will be ok. Unfortunately, some burn from the rads, but, there are a lot of meds out there that their rads oncologist can help them with.

Sorry that you are so tired now Sue. I guess I had better try to build my strength up before I start radiation. I am reading your posts to prepare me for what is ahead. Thanks!
