PET Scan
My husband had his follow up pet scan yesterday and we heard from it today! The radiation oncologist said (I love this, not just good) it was GREAT! No abnormalities and what had lit up before was now all resolved and this was all great news! He is so peppy! Told him unless he had any questions, he'd see him in three months at his next regular scheduled checkup. He sees the regular oncologist for that three month check on the 17th of this month. We are so blessed and grateful. We really appreciate all you out there. This is really a great website and such a great way to connect with others going through this. Thanks so much for your prayers, concern and continued prayers. And please know, that y'all are in our daily thoughts and prayers. Thanks again.

Better late than...............well, okay, wayyyy late
Fantabulous news. I remember how great a relief it was when we got the results of my first post-treatment PET. Tears of joy.
Tell Charlie...............stay well.
God Bless you too as his caregiver. He will always be in your debt for being there "for better or for worse".

I am not sure I think it depends on the doctor. The doctor who did my chemo made me do a C/T with some type of die in it right after I finish his treatment and the Oncology was about 6 week after that. What ever it is hang in there and keep a positive side.
Keep us posted on how you are doing, I love reading everyone’s post and praying for them0 -

Hey Hondo
I was reading your profile and see you were radiated twice? Is this possible and how far apart were they? To the same area?0 -
G'day again ratfaceratface said:radiated twice
Hey Hondo

Depending on a person’s health and bone structure; I was told that I fit only a small 2% of people who could take radiation treatment twice to the same location. However I have found two other people here like me that did radiation twice and are still living to tell there stories. My radiations was 11 months apart, if you think the first time was bad, living hell is the only way to describe the second time around, I am glad that my God and my Wife were there with me all the way through.
But here is the good news, I am still living and there is life even after the second time around. I have a lot of side affects from all the radiation the worse is my jaw I can only open it ½ inch and that’s makes it hard to eat. But I do eat and I love food again, taste is only about 60% of what it uses to be but my brain doesn’t know the different anymore.
I was told in March of 2006 that my Cancer came back again on the left side of my nasal passage for a 3rd time; all the doctors could do was to offer me Chemo. One of them wanted to use something called a cyberknife to remove it with only a small % chance of recovery and a big hole in my head. When I opt for no further treatment they were very up-set with me except for one doctor who understood what I was going through at the time.
I have not done any Cancer treatment at all as of 2006; I do a MRI at MD Anderson about every 4 to 6 months and a PET scan once a year at my Oncology doctor here at home. They all show the same thing I am told, that there is Cancer there but they can’t explain why it’s not growing and why it’s not affecting me.
I do an Herbal treatment and I stay away from eating stuff with process Sugar in it along with a lot of praying, thanking God for his tender care. I put my e-mail address on my profile in case anyone wants to know what I am doing.
Take care my friend0
