Was supposed to have my final chemo round on Wed but the Dr. decided to not do the last round of chemo due to some hearing problems. After the 4th round of chemo I noticed my hearing was a little worse my eyesight also got a little worse. After the 5th round I have been getting sharp pains in my ear drums has anyone else noticed anything like that happen to them. He told me the last round of chemo was not worth me loosing my hearing. He set me up with a hearing test on Tues 09/29 and I also have the pelvic and abdominal CT scan that morning. They are doing the abdominal to make sure the spot is gone off my lung. My follow-up with him is Wed 09/30. Praying everything goes well

    Good luck
Good luck with the upcoming ct scan. I had episodic ringing in my ear that would last seconds while I was recv'ng carbo/taxol. Recently I've had short lived pain in my left ear-my chemo ended the end of April '09.

    None for me
You are doing yours IP aren't you? I never had the ear problem with all mine. I have had a hearing test and passed with flying colors after the first 20 doses. I pray the next test show that you have reached "no evidence of disease" and can rest. Saundra

    IP
I have never heard of IP I have a port implanted in my right chest which I will have to go in once a month to get flushed and also will have to see the Dr. once every 3 months to repeat CA-125. He wanted to put me on a 5 year chemo pill but the study for that usses Taxol which is the chemo I was allergic to. I have a huge family history of cancer 5 out of 6 aunts had ovarian including my mom, 2 of them after the ovarian ended up with breast and kept spreading from there to all over their bodies and both of them are no longer here. He is worried about recurrence or it spreading due to the history even though mine was found in early stages 1C. I will be relieved if the spot on my lung is gone. He never checked once he was doing chemo to see if it were cancer or not. He said if it were it would have put me in stage 4 but the chemo should take care of it if it was cancer so he wasn't worried about it. Of course I have worried about it since he told me in May that even though it was small if it was cancer it would be very important since it would mean it has mastecized. It will be a relief if it is gone.
