Hello! I just found this site and it is just what I need. I was dx in April with Stage 4 colorectal cancer. What a shock! Had no symptoms and had my colonoscopy 4 yrs ago when I turned 50. They say the cancer has been there at least 3 yrs. Have been getting FOLFOX6 and have 2 more to go. Plan is to put me on some sort of oral meds and Avastin in November. Looking forward to chatting with all of you.

Pat

    Hey Pat
Welcome to our little community. I am very sorry to hear about your diagnosis. This beast seems to have a way of flying under the radar until a lot of damage is done.

I was diagnosed Stage 4 in August '04. You can see the details on my profile page. There are many long-term stage 4 survivors here who will share their experience based wisdom and heartfelt compassion with you.

What suregery have you had so far?

    Be well... Rob; in Van

    Welcome Pat!
    Sorry you had

    Welcome Pat!

Sorry you had the need to find us, but glad that you did find this community since you have the same DX as we do. It is a great place for information and support. I'm very recently diagnosed also (surgery 3 weeks ago, and waiting for some test results to get the chemo plan in place). I've found lots of good information here, and many helpful supportive people.

If you have a question, just ask. If you just need to vent, and don't have another good outlet for that - do it here. Everyone understands.

    Hello Pat!!
Welcome to our little home away from home, where we are all family :)

I'm sorry to hear you have the same disease we all do, but we're all in this together, no matter what type of cancer anyone has, I hope to hear more from you, and if you need to ask anything, go for it, vent, chat, we do it all here, and are here for you :)

    Hugsss!

Hello, I am also stage IV
Hello, I am also stage IV and was DX. in May 09, I have CC with mets to liver. I have had 8 treatments so far of Folfox plus Avastan. They did just cut the Oxi out of my treatment because of Neuropothy. Let me know how I can help you, ask anything and I will be here to answer. We are all going through this together. Maybe we can reach NED together. How many treatments have you had? do you have Mets to the liver? God Bless you, Patti

    Welcome Wagon
    Welcome Pat :)

I'm at the rear of the Welcome Wagon, but so glad that you have found this site...a beacon of hope in your darkest hours...and a wealth of support and love during your finest hours.

I can't say enough about everyone here - they've been a real blessing to me and you will find the same thing.

I'm another Stage IV - due up for some lung surgery in a couple of weeks, but will help you any way that I can too.

Questions or concerns, just ASK - and we'll come a runnin' :)

You are in good company. My sister was dx 03/09 Stage IV mets to liver and peritoneum. We are in this battle and are determined to win!
I'll keep you in my prayers. The number of newly diagnosed is astonishing to me.
