Finally Finished with Treatment

Hello Y'all

My husband finished his last rad this week. All the DR's and staff were standing there applauding when he came out of the room. They also gave him a "certificate" for being a good and cooperative patient. I thought that was cool. He had his last chemo two weeks ago. Both the chemo DR and the rad Dr are amazed at how well he is doing. He is eating chicken noodle soup, grits, mashed potatoes, stuff like that. He is not using the feeding tube at all now so we hope it will come out soon. We are not rushing anything, just taking it day by day. He is tired and weak but is managing to get out a little each day. Piddles around in the yard, walks the dog. I am just happy that he is not in his PJ's when I get home from work. So for all of you just starting this or in the middle of treatment, keep the faith. It will be over soon. I pray for you all everyday and hopefully one day there will be a cure for this horrible disease. Donna

    Just wanted to say that it wasn't a cake walk through this seven weeks of hell.
    We had all the symptons you hear about, vomiting, sleeplessness, pain, headaches, depression, anger, fear. Sometimes he was tired and couldn't sleep. We used all the meds. He was taking about four different medicines for naseau, pain meds, biotene, salt water rinses, I just wanted you to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

    Glad to hear the good news, this is the first part of a long walk but the worse is now behind you.
