Not cancer related but....

Okay, this isn't cancer related but I wanted to share.

I live in Villa Rica, Ga. My home is in a corner of the county where several counties merge. Carroll and Douglas Counties are two of the worst hit by the 100 year flood you've seen on the news the past few days.

Two days ago, three 2 year olds died within hours of each other. One was swept away when a 2 foot deep creek swelled to 20 ft. deep and tore their mobile home off cinder blocks and then smashed it into a stand of trees. The other two were the twin sons of a doctor and his wife. They died when their second floor heating and air unit malfunctioned after a storm surge and drove the temperature in their bedroom to over 100°.

The number of deaths changes each day as they find people in receding waters or in vehicles. A 39 year old mom of a 4 and 5 year old drown in her van while on the phone with her husband awaiting rescue... a teen drown while trying to rescue someone from a jeep. A young man was found late yesterday, dead in his overturned car. It's so sad.

We're fine. Our roof leaked but hubby (age 62) climbed up and found a rubber boot around an exhaust pipe had deteriorated in the summer sun. He was able to quickly repair it, between the huge storms. Not soon enough to keep our bedroom trey ceiling from being damaged, tho. Out of 100 trees, we lost only a few large limbs.

Still no school in our area. No one can be buried because of the water logged clay or flooded cemeteries.

Please pray for or send healing thoughts to these families who have lost their loved ones.

    So Sad!
I have a cousin who lives in Georgia there who has been posting pics about it on her Facebook, and it is just horrible there, I am so saddened to hear about all those poor, sweet lives that have died in this horrible flooding, and hope that you stay safe Diane! I hope this is it with the floods, and the tolls stop rising, my cousin has her house halfway buried it looks like, lots of damage, just hope those poor people stay safe, and no more deaths come out of this, I will be praying for those in Georgia.

    Hugsss!

    Oh My!
Thanks Diane for the information - I had no idea as I've not been keeping up too much lately.

I am so sorry to hear about tragedies like that. Mother Nature can be an awesome force. It's very sad that children passed away because of it - things just don't make sense alot of times.

Anyway I'll absolutely send positive thoughts and prayers towards Georgia and here's hoping that things will get back to normal for your house and your state very soon.

    Thanks for sharing - Craig
