Hi there.

My life got twisted back in just a few days, 11 days ago I started with fever, spasm in muscles and started to cough rotten fluids in really high quantity.

For the first time since diagnosed I was not able to go to work and had to go to hospital, stayed there for the last 10 days, I may say, the worst days of my life.

Now I am back home feeling achy and little weak after 10 days of IV antibiotics.

Dx was an Abscess in my lung, very hard stuff but there are also good news, after RX, CT Scan and all studies made by the doctors, my onc said there is no trace of the tumor anymore, it seems the kemo made the tumor explode or rotten and that was what I was vomiting.

She´s talking about a surgery (resection) of some part of my upper lobe as now (??) it is an option.

I am feeling wasted and can´t understand how putting me through what I have suffered the last 10 days can be good, but she said so and hope it is going to be like that.

She even asked for all records I have (RX, CT Scansm PET Scans, etc) as she wants to show my case as she says it is unique, she said she has never seen someone to get rid of a tumor the size I had in the way I had and in the time I haf been under kemo.

I am feeling hope with these words but feeling really wasted. Had one more PET Scan programmed and then she wants to seat with me and some surgeon oncologist (think 2 of them) to explain and take the surgery.

Anyone has any experience with this? I am feeling weak and think I need time to recover but she said we need to do it now that everything is working great. I am fine as to take kemo but feel very coward about returning to hospital and all the needles and that stuffs.

Thin I need some support.

    Update
After all this time it is confirmed, my 12cm x 9cm x 8cm tumor is no longer there, there is only a small sore spot in the lung caused by the infection I had (the one that put me in the hospital) Aspergillosis.
She wants to burn it or cut that small area to get rid of that.

Now, I was diagnosed stage IV because I have some supraclavicular lymph nodes involved so getting rid of the lung tumor don´t make me cancer free. My onc wants to remove the 3 lymph nodes on my neck to test them and also, to get me rid of cancer, is that possible?

Maybe Soccer Free can assist with this by giving me some advise.

I am feeling great and I started to think about the possibility to get cured or at least to have more time, you know, no tumor and they removing the lymph nodes will give me some time cancer free and if it starts to grow again, it would be like starting over but gaining time to be in this world with my family.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

I'm happy to hear the news about the tumor disappearing....that's just wonderful my friend! I hope they are able to remove the lymph nodes as well! I'm wondering if that could be possible for my hubby as well. We see the onc next week so I'll ask.

I'm sure Joe will be popping by soon with some wonderful advice. You know we can always count on him :)

Take care Mario and keep us updated!
