Back from Mayo

I had appointments at Mayo today, and all went well. I get to start my chemo again in two weeks after I have healed a bit more from surgery. Also, the colon blockage was NOT caused by a tumor. The blockage was caused by the cancer cells floating around, they were basically trying to attack the colon and made it stop working. So, all in all, good news....continue with chemo to kill those darn cancer cells that are floating around!!

    I am so glad thats all it was and no tumor keep up the work and remember,

    Cathy---actually great news that it wasn't a tumor!....what patience you have--God won't give you more than you can bear---but sometimes--we just wonder, don't we..?? You are in my prayers and thoughts...keep up your brave and awesome fight!

    So glad to here that there is no tumor, so rest up for 2 weeks and get down to the business
    of killing those little buggers so that you can get better.

    William,

    We shaved my head already, so no more shedding problems. ha. My wig works wonderfully, and is quite comfortable, I also have some great hats that are comfy as well. As for the colostomy, it is reversible, but it all depends on how the chemo works and such as to when they'd be able to do that. I'm getting used to using it now, just had to make some wardrobe adjustments to accommodate for the bag, needed a few baggier shirts. Other than that, not a huge hinderance. Thanks for all your encouragement!

    Glad that you are back from the Mayo and that the pathology was good!!! Great news. I just returned home from the Mayo, My brother was flown home, but has a minor set back with C-diff toxin and dehydration, which is unfortunately from the chemo. Let me know who your GI oncologist is and what chemo you are getting,... if you dont mind.

    Hi Eileen!
    Glad you're back home, and glad your brother is out of the hospital as well. My oncologist is Axel Grothey, and I am on Taxotere and Irinotecan.

    I'm so happy to hear not tumor in the colon!!! AND, that this is reversible!! Hang in there girl, you are doing fantastic!! Get lots of rest so you can start your fight again!!
