Good Luck!!!
Petrina you will be fine, I wish you the best of luck, and with your determination and faith, you will be peachy! I'm scared to get a reversal done, I have to come to terms with getting a colostomy take down, and it just terrifies me.
I will be praying got you that all goes well, and let me know what happens!
Hugsss!

Just so you are prepared-
Just so you are prepared- the recovery is a lot like recovery from resection. 5-7 days in hospital, NG tube, clear liquids, blah blah blah. I think it went better than healing from resection- takes a bit for the colon to get the hang of it again, but before you know it you will have another normal in this process.0 -
4 Days Makes It a Monday Then
Petrina
4 days makes it a Monday then...thanks for the heads up. I'll mark the day in my mind so I can think about you.
I will of course be praying extra hard for you - no complications and speedy recovery to you during your surgery.
I "hear" your resolve in your posts and it takes that kind of mindset to get up on a gurney and let them take you down the hall for a ride.
And thank you for all of your replies to any posts that I've opened - you are always very sweet to me.
Take care for now and I look forward to hearing from you as soon as you get to feeling up to it. All of us are so unbelievable here!

Ohhh so the day is finally arriving for you. You have to be so excited and scared at the same time. My surgeon said that take down was very easy - hope he's right. I'm supposed to have mine done sometime this year. I go see him on October 13 to find out more. I'm wishing you well and much success. Keep us informed.

Great to hear Petrina. The whole world needs more Newfies!
My wife's from Nova Scotia and my sister's in New Brunswick. That's as close as we get to Newfoundland. It is a part of Canada that I have, very regretably, not seen.

Hi Petrina! I'm getting my probiotic/superfoods from sunfood nutrition (sunfoodnutrition.com), and the beauty enzymes are there too. They're located in Lakeside, so you can go there if you want to save shipping. Their address should be on the site. If it isn't and you want to go, email me, and i'll get the accurate address for you. You can find Kefir at Henry's, Trader Joe's, and OB People's Coop has a soy Kefir which is good. I do NOT recommend the coconut milk Kefir unless you're prepared to mix it in a powerful smoothie. The taste is just AWFUL. One bottle of Kefir lasts me about three servings, or three days. Another thing that is very rich in probiotics is Rejuvalac (sp?), and Kombucha. Those are both highly fermented, and smell and taste like rotten alcohol to me. Some people love it. I've seen them both at the Henry's on Spring Street in the dairy refridgerator below the Kefir.
I believe Emily takes probiotics in pill form, but i don't know how differntly the body assimiates pills verses liquid. I personally prefer taking liquid.
Hugs!
