Week 2 Status - Most Accidents happen Where?

All

I've concluded 2 weeks of radiation and 1 week of chemo. Only suffering from some fatigue and neuropathy from the oxaliplatin from last Friday. I get my next round of that stuff next Friday.

Now for my accident: Possible separated rib. How it happened: shifting position in my office chair to answer the phone! I think I'll take my 5FU pump (new today) and go to bed where I can't hurt myself.

    been there done that
    They broke Jeff's rib in surgery so he is still healing from that, and we can relate with the fanny pack he too had it also and it works really well. Its just a hassle for dressing and sleeping he always slept in the recliner with that when he was hooked up. Just take it easy and don't drop the fanny pack.

    Thank you for the words, but as for being grounded, it was self imposed on July 24 when I was diagnosed, so sorry, you're too late.

    If it wasn't for my bad luck I just wouldn't have any luck at all. I did hear from my radiologist/oncologist that he had a patient with a very similar squamous cell cancer in about the same location just above the nipple line and used the identical treatment plan I'm on. He is listed as cancer free even down to the microscopic level! What a great thing to tell me to harken up a new spirit for the next month!

    Early deer season opened here yesterday, but Bambi's dad is safe from me for the time being, as I'm grounded and physically incapable of having to deal with the processing.

    Are you sure you are not my twin???? my tumor is at the nipple line and the lymph node is on the other side in the same area. Those are encouraging words and boy can we use them, but I am not on your protocol, 5 FU and cisplatin. Can you see the deer from your house? Hope you feel well enough to be outside. Here in Baltimore we are having a magnificent Sunday and the Ravens are winning at least the last time I checked. Have a great night Mike. My Dad loved hunting for wild turkeys and when we first moved here we would see them once in a while but they are gone now. take care,

    Hi Donna,

    Which hospital are you being treated at and who is your oncologist? My dad is currently in a clincal study in Pittsburgh, but we live in Southern Maryland and they fly up there. My dad is considering moving out of the study and to have his treatments done at Johns Hopkins. Since I saw you are in Baltimore, I just had to ask. We aren't making ANY decisions until he see's his Dr. in PA. on Thursday, but it's nice to have some information ahead of time. His cancer is at the GE junction, spread to the lining of the stomach and possible liver involvement. It's all so stressful as everyone here is well awhere of!!
