Hi xskeetshooter
I finished a/c and have had 2 taxol/herceptin doses 2 weeks apart. I am fair, not a redhead but fair anyway. Ac wasnt a picnic but the taxol herceptin hasnt been terrible. I did have alot of achiness in my joints after cycle 1 of the taxol/herceptin so my oncologist started my on allegra which has helped alot. I also did develope itching and a slight rash on my right upper arm with the last infusion. I dont know what I reacted to. I called and they are going to premed me with something else next time around.
Hang in there

Ask onc, ask the boards ..

The good news is that you're
The good news is that you're 1 down. Just take it one day at a time and breathe. I'm sure you're goal is the same as the rest of us...to beat this beast. I don't think the road is an easy one but we have to be warrior's. Good luck as you continue your treatments!0 -

When I felt sick they said
When I felt sick they said to eat a little. Empty stomach makes it worse.
The first Taxotere the nurse sat with me to watch for an allergic reaction. I got the tightness of chest and she had to slow down the drip. Ask any questions to your onc or nurse so you know what to expect.0 -
I too had 8 treatments. I am
I too had 8 treatments. I am cancer free now, but the chemo was too strong for my heart. The Dr. had warned me of the side affects & danger. My heart organ is damaged at the bottom & my heart rate is low. Chemo fights cancer, but it has it disadvantage also. I lost my hair on day two, became very nauseous, constipated, body/bone aches, dry skin, went through cold & hot flashes. You name it ..I went through it.., keep fighting it girl, you can do it..I had a great support group and I too will do the same for whomever needs me!! Take care, good luck...0
