I just found out about this site called Caring Voices that is like this site in many ways. It apparently has been online for about a year but its not well populated yet which is sad. Anywho just thought I would let you know about it. it's www.caringvoices. ca
They do postings like this site does and have chatrooms for various issues. They do special dates too with specialists and workers like the one today with a social worker at the big cancer hospital here in Toronto. Very informative. Blessings, Bluerose

Any country I'm sureclsmith said:Site in Canada
Is it just for people from Canada or from any country. Sounds like an interesting site to try.
Thank you can take care,
Cindy
Like this site it is based in the country of origin and has many things on it that pertain to Canadian issues, like on here there is alot about the American system, but in general it seems to be for everyone, like here.
Cancer is universal so so much of the sites don't really have much difference country to country, cancer is cancer no matter where you are as you obviously know.
Like I said it seems to be just starting up but I am going to go back to it now and again to check on things. The best way to get going on that site is to look for all the scheduled 'meetings' they have and join in to one of them at the times alotted. That's how I got started with them and met people there in the room. The first one, and only one so far I went to, was on Ovarian Cancer and it was led by a social worker from Princess Margaret cancer hospital in Toronto. Resources for Canadians will be more plentiful obviously on this site but then again thats true of this American site too.
I'm going to go in and sit in on some of the meetings and pop into other rooms they have there now and again to see whats up. The chatrooms so far seem to be on gyne cancers, breast cancer, haematological cancers and I think there is a general cancer chat room too. Can't remember them all. It isn't as well organized as here but then again its only been up and running for about a year they told me. Worth a look.
