PET SCAN IS GREAT, BUT NO DATE SET YET
IT WAS A LONG DAY AT HILLMAN DR.LUKETICH WAS CALLED AWAY TO DO SURGERY RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF CLINIC JUST BEFORE IT WAS OUR TURN TO SEE HIM. SO WE WAITED AND WAITED AL WAS GETTING TIRED SO WE GOT HIM A BED IN THE TREATMENT ROOM. DR. LUKETICH FINALLY CAME TO SEE US AT ABOUT 2:00 WE HAD BEEN THERE SINCE ABOUT 9:00. HE SAID THAT THE SCAN LOOKED GOOD AND THAT
MOST OF THE LYPHNODES HAD WERE COMPLETELY GONE AND THE TUMOR WAS SMALL ENOUGH FOR HIM TO DO
SURGERY IF WE WANT TO. LIKE THERE WAS ANY QUESTION. HE WENT OVER A FEW MORE THINGS AND SAID THAT AL WOULD NEED TO PUT ON SOME WEIGHT AND GET STRONGER BEFORE HE WOULD DO THE SURGERY. WE SEE HIM IN 3 WEEKS AND MOST LIKELY HE WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR SURGERY 3 WEEKS AFTER THAT. SO IT LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE TO WAIT ABOUT 6 WEEKS OR SO.
AL WILL NEED SOME CHEMO AND RADIATION AFTER THE SURGERY TO SHRINK SOME LYMPHNODES THAT DR. LUKETICH MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GET TO DURING SURGERY.
SO NOW WE JUST HAVE TO EAT, EAT AND EAT SOME MORE WITH A LITTLE EXERCISE FOR GOOD MEASURE.
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR PRAYERS AND WORDS OF ENCOURAGMENT
IT'S NOT OVER YET, BUT WE'RE GETTING THERE.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
WITH ALL MY HEART
KATHY

Hi William,
Yes I did remember to say hello to Dr. Luketich for the both of you! After that we got down to business and discussed our options. They have to give them to you like we could try more chemo & start radiation to see what that does instead of haveing surgery.LOL I just looked at him and said why, why would anyone not want you to do this surgery thats what we came for. He just kind gave me that look you know the one & Dr C his right hand guy just laughed. WE ARE ON OUR WAY, if it were up to me the surgery would have been done yesterday. I know I have to wait and it will get done in GODS AND DR. LUKETICH'S TIME. GOD
gave him the ability to do what he does and I am totally willing to put Al in his hands when the time comes.
Thank you for holding my hand!!!
May God Bless & Keep you Both

William,
Dr.L did not say that we needed to have more radiation and chemo, He just put it out there as an option to do instead of surgery!! He wants Al just to hang out and rest for about 3 weeks and gain weight and see him on October 1st. Then we will be scheduling surgery.
He has to put the more chemo & radiation option out there in case we would choose not to have surgery.
As far as Al is concerned surgery is a go in about 5-6 weeks.
I am going to have to change my post so that people don't get confused.
This is good news
Thanks again!
God Bless
