My sister had total hysterectomy on 8/13. And she is hospitalized since 8/28 because of small intesine blockage. She had high white blood cell count, but no fever and vital signs are normal. Doctors do not know why and where is wrong. Yesterday, they found an air pocket in her abdominal area, the radioalist suspect the leakage from the blockage.
Any one had similar experience?
Can she starts Chemo with the high WBC? The Chemo was scheduled to start on 9/1, now postponed because of the blockage.
Thanks.

High WBC
After my hysterectomy, I was in the hospital for 4 more days longer than was expected b/c of high white count. I had an infection somewhere so was on high doses of antibiotics.
Sometimes after long surgeries infection does set in. I was able to have chemo three weeks after the day of surgery.
