Today i just told myself to get going on the site and post as much as i can and it has made me feel better a little. I miss you being your silly self, you have made me smile and laugh quite a few times. So hurry up and get to feeling better.
Take care

IN THE AIR
Maybe it's in the air. I to have been depressed this past week. It seems like it's always something. If not the cancer it's someone in the family that has an issue. I have been having alot of palpitations the last couple of weeks ,so the onc. sent me to a heart doc and I had to wear a halter moniter for 24 hours. Hope it all comes out OK. Maybe just anxiety about the whole situation. As far as being Flakey tjhay don't worry we all love it!! You make our day!! Hugs Diane0 -

It's okay to be flaky.
Tjhay
It's okay to be flaky. Being a flake has so many advantages. Like when the light bulbs goes out and you stand there and say, I guess I should check the wiring and someone offers to check and change the bulb or when it's time to paint and you ask, Do the clean the brushes with gasoline, someone offers to do all the painting. Or the doctor says no vacuuming after surgery and you convince your significant other that it means forever. If you look like a flake others are bound to jump in and save you from your flakiness. I myself, work hard at cultivating a high level of flakiness. I recommend. So welcome to my club, the one where other's will do for you out of self preservation. My daughter was a flake also. Her friend's nicknamed her Densy Flako in high school. But she outgrew it and is real self reliant. I am too, but I work the flako stuff when I can.
I am sorry that you have been feeling down and bored. A bad combination for sure. I prayer that you bounce back because I love your humor and we need that and your good advice.

Wow hmmmm that would work. So what you are advising me to do is to work the flako stuff just like it is chemo fog? Boy I could get out of doing alot, esp since I am still living in the fog. Oh man this could be fun. Thanks Stef you just gave me somthing to do, now I can spend some of this to much time on my hands figureing out how to really make everyone that they need to do the undesirable stuff. Just think I will actualy have to use my brains to get away with this, I could get smarter and none of them will know it till I decide to open my mouth and lay into them cause I am having one of my famous tantrums.

I sure hope that those palpatations are nothing except stress. When I am feeling stressed I meditate, I also meditate everyday no matter what, usualy first thing in the morning just as the sun is comming up, somthing about hearing the birds say good morning and feeling the morning sun slowly hitting my face as I am taking account of myself first thing in the morning just seems to make the day start better.

You are getting it perfectly. Super intelligent women who work it, work it, work it. Full advantage, no consequences. And the tantrums work as well. What flako won't get you, scaring the HEL* out of them will. Now I have something to add to my arsenal. Oh, I am loving it.

TJ...
Honestly, I have never - not even once - thought of you as "flaky"... So, now I'm wondering: am I the "flaky" one, then? Must be. Because if YOU are flaky, I didn't notice.
Am not laughing, either. :-)
Sorry you've been bummed out lately. I believe we all have times like that, on and off. For the boredom - give something new and different a try, maybe. Nothing to lose. If you don't enjoy it - try something else.
Hope you're feeling better, real soon. Take care, friend.
Kind regards, Susan0 -
Look here Tjhay and Stef....
First of all Tjhay, I just want to say this.....Hahahaaaahaa, ho, hahaaahaahaaha!!!
Ok, got that out of my system. Now, just want you two to know....I think we may have a new club here! I hold the crown for flakiness and crazy! It's gotton a tad harder now that the blond is gone, but after 30 years of being blond....I have them convinced that it's still there, just covered up! The coolest thing is....I'm REALLY a brunette!!!! ♥ Pammy0 -

I hate those down periods....
and I have been in a funk lately too. I have hardly been able to drag myself to the computer and I didn't even start chemo yet. I already take Lexapro, just situational, I'll snap out of it soon, as will you. I have been reading the posts but not replying so, like Laura, I made myself reply this morning and I feel somewhat better.
Missed your wit. Your posts always make me smile. Loved the one where you told how you meditate in the sun every morning. What a peaceful way to begin your day and then you also get all of your Vitamin D naturally too. Good ole Florida sunshine!!!
Love and Light,

I absolutely must be in the flakey club. It's my normal state so I'll fit right in!! Steph, I never really knew the advantages of being a flake, thank you for pointing them out. I haven't even started chemo yet so this is going to be quite an adventure!
Crazy has always been a given, its just a family thing. My 6 sisters and I have learned to put the FUN in dysFUNctional. My husband and kids scatter when we all get together. I never really understood this. My daughter finally explained it to me --"No mom they're not mean-They're embarassing". Huh, I guess she's right, I just missed it all these years. So where does this put me on the flakeometer?
Tjhay, as far as feeling down in the dumps, have you considered that it may be a seasonal thing? I know that its August, but fall is coming and at least where I live we are starting to see signs of fall. I have seasonal affective disorder that really hits when the seasons change. Because there certainly can't be anything else going on in you life that would cause your feelings of ennui (pronounced on wee meaning listlessness, boredom -sometimes the French do get it right).
Bottom line, you have the right to your feelings. Celebrate and expand your flakyness, crazy is good, tantrums can be interesting. If you're really desperate, you can go the Oprah route and do a gratitude list. Personally, I've had that backfire on me because I feel guilty that I'm not more grateful about all I have to be grateful for.
Anyway wishing you and all the wonderful caring women and men here the best.
Love and Peace

I think you are in good
I think you are in good company! Checking the posts lately, it seems may of us have the end of summer doldrums, pissed about cancer, tired of being upbeat, and just the unspoken (ok, I am gonna say it!) wishing we had never HAD to find this place, and wishing that no new ones ever needed to find it, either. It isn't easy to log on daily and see a "help me I'm afraid" post...our hearts go out to each and every one of them.
And then you have TANTRUMS added to your personal mix! :-)~
But it's all ok; we all have these peaks and valleys, and I'm glad you are posting to keep us in the loop!
Hang in there, sister!
Hugs,
Chen♥0 -

That sounds like a good idea to try! My daughter also suggested yoga! I'll give them both a try. Diane:)0 -

Oh Goody a new club. The Crazy Flakos or Rantin' Crazed Flakos. It's the extreme faction of the Daft Sods. And I love the 30 year blonde now undercover who is actually a brunette. I must have blonde in me for my flakiness but am a dyed reddish brown who was born S H I T Brendle Brown and truth be told am now totally white haired underneath.
I still love that kitty.

As a natural blonde I am thinking I should be having a tantrum here. However my ocd now has me busy organizing the new club. Just what we all need an extreme faction of the Daft Sods. Well going to have to come up with a good name, though seeing as I am who I am I am kind of partial to Rantin Crazed Flakos. We will prob have to put it up to a vote, right along with the board of exuectives. Oh lord now the club is going corprated and I have not even posted a membership post. Talk about putting the cart before the horse. Well still being a Flako I guess.

Truth be told the 2 brightest together ladies I ever knew were blondes. But that is only 2 out of the whole universe I am sure. LOL. And see this whole thing is curing your boredom. You have a job, a function, but don't be too effective or you will blow your cover. SHHHH!
We can put it to a vote but will we all forget to count them or count them twice. Time will tell. As far as tantrums go, just go have a good mad attack. What is a mad attack you might ask? When my daughter was little and got stressed out, we encouraged her to go into our room, climb on the water bed, roll back and forth, beat the pillows and scream until the stress was gone, and then close her eyes and take a rest. It worked for her. I forgot about those, I think I will try it next time I am stressed. Well, we don't have the waterbed but still it's worth a shot.
So get to work, you genuine blonde you and start organizing. Names, numbers, dues, Executive Board, Votes, and I forget what are we doing?

Beat the Drums; Beat the Funk
Hey, Lady,
Sorry to hear you are feeling a little low. What is going on? I thought I heard you say you played the drums. Maybe you could pound out your frustrations on the drums. Maybe you could write a theme song for us.
I come from a line of musicians and drummers. My grandfather sang in some Mexican big bands. My father played the drums in a band that played Mexican music and rhythem and blues. I have a two brothers that play for their churches. One plays guitar and one plays the drums. Me, I have messed around with the guitar and the drums. I think I am better suited for the conga drums or the dumbek. You know, you can pound the hell out of them.
I hope you get to feeling better. Let me know what I can do to help.
