Home from vacation!
All the docs were great, DocHandsome1 came in first and we had fun playing like artists, a little abstract, and odd, but then after that the anasth doc went through my drink recipes, to see which one I would like the best. We settled on a plan for a triple martini to start with, but then maybe move off to the tried and true pina colada, then I left the rest of my refreshments up to him, told him to surprise me.
After that, we moved off to the massage room where they covered me in warm blankets and kept me "loose" for the next phase.
DocHandsome2 came next, told me how happy I was to have him there for me (not kidding) and that he was going to make me the happiest woman in the world. I told him I didn't know they had "those" kind of services there, but hey, the first round of drinks was taking hold and I was ready for anything.
DH2 came in the next morning and asked how I liked the results, and I told him I had the best looking Frankenboobie anyone could ever have hoped for, and I think I'll keep it.
They kept me in recovery for about 5 hours, but only because they didn't have a bed for me yet in CCU. Had to stay there for 3 days to make sure the graft took. The graft was on its very own monitor the whole time, and it was always about 96-100%, no variations. Then off to ICU for a couple more days before heading home.
They decided to leave the drains in (2 on tummy, 1 on FB), and it is now Robert's job to drain and measure them. Hopefully by Wednesday when I go back to see HD2, they will remove them then.
Met a whole group of such very very nice people there, all are encouraging and helpful. The place is like a fancy hotel, I had a menu to call for meals, they answer "room service" when they take your order, they are all private rooms, was a very nice new place. But no matter what, I was so happy to be home, and my mama showed up today to be of any help she can, so I am feeling very loved and well cared for right now.
I don't know what I would do without my cyber family (and the real one!)

Happy you are posting
Cat,
Happy you are posting and recovering. Love the way you tell the story of your surgery. And Frankenboobie is too funny. So glad that it is going well for you. I hope you have a complete recovery and drains out and are on the mend in no time at all. We missed you so much, but Robert did a great job of keeping us posted. He and you are very much alike.
Still and all glad you are back on here. Not the same without you.

Nice to have you back. Also, GREAT to find they didn't manage to remove your sense of humour!.. Hey, Where do you find all these handsome doc's? Mine looks like a bulldog chewing a wasp!

A Loved and Well-Cared for Cat
Which is just exactly what you are and should be, dear Cat. Yea! It's over, you're home! With that wonderful man of yours and your mom even, along with your two cuddly kitten boys and girl. Oh, and "Frankenboob." You are hilarious even hours out of hospital. I'm glad, too, that your sense of humor and wit are intact.
I will be thinking of you resting out on your porch as soon as you can, with the sound of your new waterfall to soothe you.
Thank you and Robert for keeping us updated. Sure he won't join and create his own avatar?
Just curious what that would be...

Since I'm still just a newbie I hadn't the pleasure of really knowing how humorous you are but your post had me LMAO!!! Frankinboobie is perfect for what these look like!!! So did either handsome Doctor recomend that you wear the lovely compression outfit??? I hope so becasue I've been in mine 2 weeks and I can tell my tummy is healing flatter.. my tummy had this cone head thing going on and it's slowly going down... and WOW I Love having a flat tummy after years of belly jiggle...
As for the drains.. My Daughter named mine dingle berries (I came home with 5!!!)... They were the most annoying part of the whole ordeal..Getting ready for a shower was a complete time consuming task!! grrrr... My doc wouldn't take 2 out in the same area at one time so my last drain was removed 13 days after surgery and man oh man did that feel good!!
Glad your back!!!!

Hey Cat, so glad to see you're home and feeling well....and what an adventure you had with allthe handsome docs....good for you!!! Gotta laugh at Julia's expession of bulldog eating a wasp, that is too funny. Although I haven't posted much lately (haven't been feeling great) I've been keeping track of your posts and thank your hubby for keeping us up to date. Rest, don't over exert yourself and heal up quick, OK???

Warm welcome back, dear Cat!
Yep, you're really doing well, for sure - because your sense of witty humor is obviously intact! :-)

Flirting? nah, not while drugged, all the time! He was such a brat, would stand over my bed while I'm sleeping and wake me by saying "Aw, look how cute she looks there sleeping with her mouth wide open... And continued to thank himself for doing such a good job on me, so I kept laying on the (over)praise when others were around, and I think they all got a kick out of it.

Love my Frankenboobie, new and improved. So big and whole. Now my other one is feeling a bit low.....hehe
Stef, Thanks for letting Robert know how much he was appreciated, and yes, when you live with someone for 33+ years, you do tend to become each other, that must be where those stray eyebrow hairs come from! They just end up on my chin because that is where they stay on his face! Mystery solved.
Julia, your descriptions of your docs are hilarious, not sure if I have been able yet to picture a bulldog chewing a wasp! But I will keep trying!

Lisa, so glad to hear you made it home (with lovely background music the whole trip!) Hope your finished cooking now and can get on with the process of healing. Yes, I plan on visiting my front porch, mom will love it too! She brought her misters just in case it starts getting too warm, hopefully not.
Lisa and ~T hate to tell you Robert would probably try to find some type of skull or scorpion, or maybe just post his arms...yes, he has the tats too! Yes, when they told him he couldn't come into recovery, just go home and see her tomorrow, I think he got a bit annoyed. Needless to say, there he was, and then went home happy. And ~T, if you start making up some stories, at least make sure I am the beautiful princess with her handsome prince, then there will be a semblance of reality to it
Calleen, thanks for the welcome back! I know you are fairly new, but I remember seeing a couple of your posts before my surgery, I just had so much pre-op stuff going on, I was reading stuff, but not doing much posting. Now Robert thinks he is going to limit my pc time for recovery, haha I also had someone else ask about the compression outfit, I have nothing, and like it actually. the FB is so solid it really needs no support at this point, and the tummy is flat-wow. Robert kept trying to figure out what the drains looked like to him, I have them pinned on my shirt so they dangle, so yes the dingleberry reference is really good. Robert says they look like the decorations on a spanish flamenco dancers hat, or cow udders, I'll take the hat. Haven't yet been able to shower, that is on for tomorrow, for now I am still doing the basin bath, but the drains do get in the way, even though I only have three.

the girl is a monster and still growing!!! all her color has come in, but her tail seems to have been stolen from someone else, she must be the kitty eeyore and pinned someone elses tail on her.

No way that sleepy-eyed kitty with a little pink nose and fluffy white fur is a monster. Joe is allergic, or we'd have had a little fluffball ourselves. Love the pics of your three, and hope they cuddle with you (maybe after the drains are removed).0
