marc,
your concerns about your health are perfectly normal, and even wise, in the circumstances. There is no such thing as 'paranoid' when a symptom emerges, no matter how innocuous it may seem. Getting it checked out and resolved is the only sane thing to do. Your mind will be at rest and your spirit will be better able to heal after your recent loss. The healthy diet and exercise will also provide your body with the extra 'boost' which your immune system is going to need in the future. You seem very sound and balanced to me.

I don't think you are being paranoid. I think your Mom's cancer has just made you aware of how fragile we are and how much we take for granted. Your Mom's illness has prompted you to take better care of yourself, that is something she would really be glad about.
My Mom passed from ovarian. My Aunt from breast cancer. About 7 months after my Mom passed they found I had breast cancer. Not even a year later I had ovarian. And I found this by just doing routine things...getting a checkup. Being over cautious? Nope, I think you are being proactive. May your heart continue to heal...hugs, Cindy0 -

i vividly remembered checking in this forum in april and i saw your post about your husband...and i was rattled. I was at work and i felt bad but i also had a great concern about my mom since you were mentioning how your husband was in so much pain...then when my mom got worse and worse, her pain was probably similar...my mom left just 4 months after your post in april and i can seriously think back seeing at all the news about "i lost my X, Y, Z today, etc..."...and i felt the feeling of being part of a statistic...i thought my mom will not get suckered into this disease since she was very lively and joyful, but if my mom can be defeated by this terrible disease then that means there is something better out there besides real world cuz i know my mom didnt deserve to live in pain 24/7.....i hope you the very best and i just got my physical, all is good, except my family history is a concern since diabetes runs high with my family so from now on 1.5 miles every other day of running and workout..and imma get a colonoscopy in january next year to be safe....thanks again and thank you for sharing some of your thoughts.0 -
