What is your diagnosis and what type of chemo treatment are you on?
I was diagnosed with DCIS(Ductal carcinoma in situ) with invasion stage one no lymph node involvement.
Had a double mastectomy with tissue expanders.
Chemo treatment:
A/C four treatments--one every other week(finished)
Taxol w/Herceptin 12 treatments-once every week(finished 7/23)
Herceptin alone--once every three weeks for a year.(I have had one treatment)
Best of luck to you.

Do you mean you can't sleep? When I first started chemo. I couldn't sleep for 2 days. But that never lasted. Then I had a couple of days where I slept for 2 days.. Every treatment was different. Diane0 -

Glad you have joined us here although I am sorry for the reason. I was also staged 3a and Her2 positive. I was on Carboplatin, Taxatere, and Herceptin. The steroids they gave me before treatments made it almost impossible to sleep the first few nights/days after treatment. I took ativan and zanax to help me wind down a little.
Keep posting us here you will find so much support.

Audi, sounds like you just want to sleep all the time. I had a few days like that, but remember to drink alot of water, and if your are able to eat, eat healthy foods and fruits. You will get through this! If you are feeling really bad, contact your oncologist. There may be something he can give you.0 -

Audi, I'm glad that you found us, though I am sorry for your diagnosis.
I finished six rounds of TAC at the end of April. My level of tiredness increased, and I did nap off and on most of the days immediately following chemo. But, I didn't sleep heavily all the time. Keep in mind that you do need more rest during chemo, and you should listen to your body and get the rest you need.
But, if your level and amount of sleep continue to seem excessive to you and bother you, you might talk with your oncologist. Excessive sleep is also a sign of depression, which, Lord knows, a cancer diagnosis can cause.0 -
HER2 .. STAGE ?AudiA8 said:her2 stage 3a my treatments
her2 stage 3a my treatments are taxotere,adriamycin,cytoxan
I am going to a Breast cancer specialist tomorrow, 8/19 to find out what stage my HER2 is in. My general surgeon did not provide that information to me.
I hope all is well with you, and will compare treatments tomorrow.
Good Luck.

I think it is normal Audi for a person to not be able to sleep after chemo. Is that what you mean?0
