great idea
I have been so thankful for my blog. Not only did it help me to write, but it helped my family and friends to be able to read what was going on. I HATED answering the same questions over and over again, so with the blog they could read about it and spare me and my hubby. I had a general blog site but I would recommend the Caring Bridge site much more. That way others can sign up to be notified when you post if they want to know. I believe it is caringbridge.org. That is the only other site I have seen but I do know there are others.
Good luck!

Last year my store manager aquired the "flesh eating desease" don't remember the name of it but it affected his eye. He went through massive pain and treatments and was comatosed for serveral weeks. His family used this site to keep out of state family members and freinds up to date. His family even gave it to all 400 of us knowing that everyone would be interested in his progress. It was absolutly great.
*Site note it took him almost 2 months to recover, (he almosted died) but he's doing fine out and back at work giving orders.

I also have a CaringBridge site.
Not only is great for me to provide updates, but I've also received nothing but positive comments from my friends who sign up for updates and post in the guestbook -- they have all different levels of computer savvyness (or not), and all seem to find it easy to use.

Caring bridge is the best place to go, especially if you have a lot to post and people can keep up with you better.

Thanks for sharing your neice's blog link Vickie. I also think that there is a place on here too...perhaps in the Expressions Gallery.
