High count-possible hernia?

Well, I think my drs don't need any other patients...I can keep them in business with my medical issues all by myself!

Now, my last 4 CA counts were high (they are suppose to be between 0-38.1). They have been: 38.1, 48.1, 40.? (I missed the number) and 47.6. On top of this, that little bulge I had below my ribcage, that I thought was: lymphodema, misplaced organ (actually I was told this since I don't have a spleen), or just a lump of fat, may be a hernia that has decided to get a life of its own and grow. In fact, it's grown enough that people are beginning to take notice. It's on the same side as my mastectomy and it looks like a misplaced breast (juxtposing the other one)and is becoming noticable under my clothes (and I gave up on the tigher fitting clothes years ago). Rather unsightly, if I say so myself.

I'm suppose to return to work in Sept (school teacher) and this has to happen now?

Well, I'm still going on my romantic week-end next week (bulge and all). I have another dr appt on Mon afternoon. Maybe it's nothing at all...here's for wishful thinking.

    I have that same bulge same place as yours and also right under mastectomy side. I have showed it to many Dr.'s and none are concerened, They think it is lymphademia or a distribution of fat, let me know what you find out.

    Jackie...
    I thought the same thing, but this bulge is further down and working it's way UP towards the mastectomy site. It's more in my abdominal area (where my spleen ought to be). I'll post after my Monday appt and find out what's it all about.

    Actually, I do have a hernia! Mine was there before I found out I had breast cancer (my right breast) I didn't notice it until I lost weight. I had showed it to my GI dr. he palpated my abdomen, and he said NOTHING, said maybe my GI issues were something with my sm bowell. So why didn't HE order the CT scan??? It took my Oncology Dr. to order it. It's a hernia with a sm bowell loop. It gurggles sometimes when I push on it gently. Have you showed it to your Cancer Doctor? BTW, they can grow, I'm sure mine has.

    Lanie, yes, I have showed it to my onc...
    but no one seemed too concerned about it, but now it's much larger. I'll have more info after my onc appt on Monday when one of the dr sees me.
