    hair
I finished chemo the end of May and my hair is just starting to grow back and it is also ... all over the place and different lengths. I was REALLY hoping for THICK maybe curly hair ... but instead it looks like I'm getting very, very fine baby "fur." Before chemo I was almost totally gray but it was even in color ... but ... now when I look at what is coming in ... it's all very light ...probably either gray or white ... but there's a patch on the top of my head that is much darker and I don't know what to think of that. I'm glad I'm getting hair ... but I'm afraid I'm going to look like a skunk!

I guess we just have to wait and see what we end up with ... huh?

    hugs.

    Hairs To you!
There thankfully is no right or wrong on this one~ if you think you would like your hair shaped...go for it! And, if you are simply thankful to have hair, and don't mind long, short, fuzzy, straight~ go for that, too!!! Generally, though it comes back in curly, it eventually gets back to pretty much the the same hair we had PRE BC! Which is good too! It seems you are enjoying it~ and you worked hard to get it back! Whooo-hooooo!!!

    Hugs,
    Claudia

Maybe you just need a little
Maybe you just need a little trim to just even it out?

You will decide when to trim
You will decide when to trim it, I guess. Just enjoy what you have now!

    HI Rjjj
Its so cool its coming back no matter what it looks like...It makes me smile thinking that some day mine will come back too.

I for one would just show it off until it starts hanging in your face then you may need a trim.

    Have a happy day

I am sure, that like you said, just having your hair back feels great! I can't imagine, but, know how very much I admire all of you that have gone thru it. Trim it, color it, let it go WILD! Love you all the same!

    What's your style?
Do you normally wear it long or short? I would grow mine out quite a bit before I trimmed it only because I prefer longer hair. But if I normally wore my hair short, I'd probably start shaping it as soon as I could. Do what feels best to you!!! Pammy

This really does give new meaning to that growing out stage! LOL! Mine was usually shoulder length...it will take awhile to get there. It is coming in quite thick, I have enough to cover my whole head, but short like a boy-cut. I think I will wait till it's long enough and then spike it up with gel and definitely color it..it mostly grey with big white streaks in the front. Oh well it's hair and it's mine. Thank God!

    Hair Envy
Jackie, you have enough hair for someone to suggest a cut?? Wow. Do not let anyone convince you to get it cut before you want. You've earned that hair and should flaunt it, whatever colors or textures it is.

My scalp is now covered with fine, mostly black hair, with some gray. No scalp exposed, but nowhere near a cut. I AM in need of an eyebrow wax. Never thought of an eyebrow wax as a thrilling event, but it sure is. Can't wait til I get home and call my friend/hair stylist Bobbie. I need to give her some work!

I have never had black hair in my life. The wig you've seen me wear was chosen before chemo and matches my real color (OK, the color created by the aforementioned Bobbie, my good friend and hair stylist). Somebody said every clothing color looks good with black hair. I don't know. Will ask Mimi about it.

Mimi, great new photo. You look beautiful as always. What drink is that, by the way?

My hair came back crazy also. I went to a salon and had it colored with blonde highlights. I also had it cut in a very short style. It looks great, I feel so much more confident. The secret is products to tame it. There is a great product called Sleek or Smooth by Matrix.

You do whatever YOU want to do!
And whatever makes YOU the most comfortable, dear Jackie! You do NOT have to listen to "people" - it's YOUR head and YOUR hair! :-)

Maybe get some gel styling product, rub it in and spike yourself out! A great look for The RAD Bs, too!

    Kind regards, Susan

P.S.: My hair began to return in March - first cut in October...

Bob and just a couple people think I should even it our since some are longer than others, but your right Susan, It is MY HAIR and I've worked very hard for it, so I think i'll just let it grow for awhile...and try some of that smooth product mentioned above. and I will look like a real Rad B's rocker with the gel spike!
It has only been growing for about 3 mo.'s so it's still really short.
    Luv ya, jackie

    Your Hair
You sure have earned that hair, Jackie. And a gel spike is ideal for a rocker babe.

p.s. Hair products--you need hair products again. Isn't that wonderful?
