Hi Everyone,
I haven't been here for awhile, but stopped by tonight see how things were going. I see some names I don't recognize, which means more have joined this group. It's such a great source of friendship and information. I also saw names I did recognize, and that's great! I passed my one year cancer free mark in July. Now to work on year two! Take care everyone. (((hugs)))

    This board has made me feel that I am not alone while helping my mom with this battle.

    What stage were you when it wa found and what treatment did you have? Your hope is needed and thanks for checking in..

    Hi Brittany,
    I don't mind your asking! I'm happy to answer anything on this I can. I was stage Ic. I hope your mom is doing OK. It's a tough fight, but the friends I've made here are fantastic. They've made the journey a lot easier. Take care.

    Stage and treatment
    Hi Lisa,
    I had the standard taxol and carboplatinum combo. Six treatments, 3 weeks apart. It took care of my hair along with any remaining nasty cells. No radiation though. The hair came back curly and a lot lighter, but I'll take it! I actually need to go in for a trim soon. Where are you at with this? Take care.

    What date you you use to count 'survivor years'?
    Congratulations on your survivorship anniversary!!

    I actually started my cancer journey of biopsies and sonograms in July 2008, but it wasn't until September 2008 that I was referred to a gyn-onc who confirmed my cancer, with surgery and the start of actual treatment in October 2008. So at what date do I consider myself a One Year Survivor? I want to at least treat myself to a special gift that day! Or have I already missed my anniversary??! (Not that I'll let that stop me from celebrating; you can NEVER be too good to yourself! HA!)

    My two cents
    I think you should use the cancer journey date of July. Extra treat for being late in the celebration. LOL
