I'm at the hospital due to stomach problems that caused one of the chemo side effect. When I had first Chemo on June 26th then a week later my hemoglobin dropped and I had bad stomach ache so I went to the hospital and they found that my intestine got inflamed and my colon got infection. They had to give me antibotics and blood transfusion. It was not pleasant experience so it took me a long time to recover. I was suppose to have second chemo treatment but the doctors don't feel that I'm ready so they had to postponed. I called the doctor last Monday that I was having fevers and mild stomach pain and diahhrea like. Good thing they tested on me with blood works, blood culture, BM and urine testing before I have second chemo last Friday (August 7th). They wanted to have me to take cat scan first but somehow they found that I have abscess and infection in my intestine so I had to stay in hospital for several days. They had to put drainage from the abscess and antibotics. I'm feeling much better than before. Thanks for thinking about me! Reddie0 -

Everyone was very worried about where you were and what had happened to you. I checked every day to see if you had responded yet. I am very sad to hear what you've been going through, but very relieved you are on the mend. I can't even begin to imagine how hard the last few days have been for you. Do you think you'll be there for a bit, or will they be allowing you to go home soon?
Love and kisses to you,
Claudia0 -
Sorry for all of your problems. You really have had a terrible time. I can relate to the infection and all the antibiotics, and how they can make you feel. And the diarrhea from the antibiotics are not pleasant either. Hope you can get your blood counts back up and get to feeling better. Do they think you have an ulcer with all your stomach pains? I hope you don't have anything else. Take care of yourself and keep us up to date with your progress. We all care about you and want you to do well. I hope you got your port in so they can use it for all your lab and antibiotics. In peace and caring. HUGS to you.Reddie said:I'm here!!

Stay strong Reddie...like it sounds you are! Prayers and hugs down tis glorious road to recovery!0 -
I really appreciate for all of you looking out for me and wondering about me. I'm really touched! At that time I was really struggling with my health issue especially with the first chemo reaction. The doctor realized that one of the chemo drug did give me bad side effect to my stomach infection. He said that he will remove one of the three drugs if I plan to have second chemo treatment. I'm not sure if I will have second one or not but it's up to the team of doctors.kathybd said:Good to hear from you!

I can't imagine how much I've been going thru for almost a month and half to recover from the side effect that I've had. I'm glad that I'm recovery much better with the antibotics and the drainage from abscess. It makes a lot difference than last week that I felt so weak and I couldn't do much of anything. I'm looking forward to next week to see what the good outcomes are. Thanks for praying for me and rooting me for a good spirit!
Love ya, Reddie0 -
Reddie I am glad you are feeling some better. It can take a lot to recover from the effects of the medications. Continue to rest as needed and take care of yourself. You remain in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck with your decision about whether to have the second chemo treatment or not. Hope your abscess clears up soon. In peace and caring. Oh Reddie you've been through so much! I hope you have some people that you can depend on until the infection clears. Don't be afraid to ask for help. It sounds like your team is really working on getting it straight. I am sorry it had to be so difficult for you. Thank God for antibiotics! Offering you prayers and never forget we are all in the hands of God. I know on some days with this treatment we don't feel that way. Be good to Reddie now!0 -
