Hi All,

Tomorrow is a go again to have the chemo port inserted. Good news today, only 2 months of heavy duty chemo. The fish test was neg. Neulasta injections too, oww! I went to my counselor today, and she was excellent. She is a survivor, had a lot of info for me. The old me is back...positive!!!!
I even took the dogs out and played with them. I hope that this optimism lasts!! Carlie

    Keep up the good attitude!
That is good! Getting the port is the best thing ever! I think everyone should have one! It's so much easier to do than an IV! You're lucky to only have to go through chemo for two months. Will you be going daily or weekly? What type of chemo? I started with Taxol and Avastin. Then just Avastin and took a pill called tamoxifen. Now I have to go through chemo again called Abraxane. I'm not looking forward to it, but as long as it does it's job I can't complain! Keep up the good attitude! It really does help! They say laughter is the best medicine and they are right! Read funny books, watch comedys, my personal favorite is America's Funniest Home Videos! Do this daily and your optimistic attitude should stay with you.

    Best wishes,
    Sherry

    Good luck Carlie
Glad to hear the good news. I've never had one, but from what I hear, a port is a good thing. Also ask them to give you a script for ELMA cream to put on over your port 1 hour before your appointment. This will numb the area. (see, I do pay attention to everyones advice!!). :(-) Pammy
