Big talk about ovaries
Not sure why I am nervous about it. Maybe because it will be the first appointment in my treatment that my husband will not actually be there. He will be working, so he will come home, pick me up, drop me off, and wait for me to call for a ride back home.
Maybe too, he is nervous that I am doing this alone. He is afraid I will try to delay the procedure. I tried to reassure him I am ready to get it over with and heal and get on with life. Besides, I'll look for any excuse for get well boxes of chocolates!!
I'll post and let you all know what happens. Wish me luck! -) Pammy

Your upcoming ovary surgeryaztec45 said:Waiting
I will wait for your next post. We are with you.
P.
I had a complete hysterectomy (including ovaries) three years ago. It was a piece of cake compared to all the stuff we have to go through to treat BC. You will do fine! Relax! And good luck! Jane0 -
Appt. Today
Pammy, of course you are more nervous because your hubby is not with you. I feel more uneasy without Joe, so I understand how you fee. You will be fine, though. Compared to what you have been through already, the preventive surgery will not be as difficult. No waiting for test results afterward, for one big thing.
I will be thinking of you, little Pammy, and looking to hear from you when you have time. You do have courage to follow through on anything that needs to be done; we all know that about you.
Moopy
p.s. A box of chocolates at the end? -no, wait!--chocolate before AND after. Retail therapy is good, too.0 -
Shhhh! Don't tell your hubby...LOL
Wishing you well tomorrow at your appointment~ and tell that good man of yours not to worry; you are by no means going alone, we are all with you! On second thought don't tell him that! Knowing your hubby, he just might take that literally and think all of his fears/warnings about your internet friends are coming true! LOL awww...bless his heart!
Keep us posted!
Hugs,
Claudia0 -
Pammy.......
Hang in there kiddo! You will be fine!
I also had radical hysterectomy when I was 46. I was out of the hospital early the second morning. I would have come home before that, but the doctor wouldn't let me..lol!
What a great hubby you have...he's a keeper!!
Hugs,

Sending luck along with you.

I was thinking we would be like angels on your shoulder but then you couldn't even walk because there are so many of us. Then I thought we would be like links behind you but that conjured a picture of Jacob Marley. So then I thought we will be butterflies flying above and beside you. So as you look around on the way to your appointment, remember every butterfly you see if one of us looking out for you.

Hope all went well today, Pammy...
Let us know when you can.

Great appointment!
I just love all my Doctors! I actually missed my GYN (OMG...did I just say I missed her?). She was so sweet and caring. We have decided on Oct 6th for my surgery. She is going to try to do it laproscopicly, but there is a good chance that my ovaries have adhered to my adominal wall, which will require her to make an incision all the way across. I told her I didn't mind as I was hoping to get the part in "The Bride of Frankinstein"!! She was so happy to see that my spirit wasn't effected from the BC. The only thing I will wait on from that will be results from the Ovarian Cancer test. She is a wee bit concerned about the tumors on my ovaries, but I assured her everything will be fine (imagine that....me assuring the Doctor!).
Thanks everyone for being there with me. I did feel the breeze, especially when the butterflies flew by!
Oh yeah, best part! Hubby got tied up on a call. I spent time in the hospital Gift Shop waiting on him. He bought me a couple "Willow Tree" figurines (wink, wink)!! He'll have a chance to see what he bought me later as he had to get back to work. -) Pammy0 -

So glad it went well. You are truly an upbeat gal. Lap would be great but I had a full hysterectomy and it went okay. Hoping the results on the ovaries are good but this can be treated also. I love that your hubby bought you (wink wink) such lovely g i f t s. I know he will love it also.
About the incisions. Well, if they have to do a side to side then you can be Bride of Frankenstein and I am the gal in the shower from PSYCHO. I have so many scars,3 biopsies, 2 lumpectomies, sentinal node, hysterectomy (belly button down), and gall bladder. Yes my body is a slasher movie dream. Oh, and my index finger on my right hand has a lovely scar from having my tendons and nerves reattached. It looks like a defensive wound.
But even with all of this, my hubby loves me more than I deserve so I don't really care.
Again, my prayers and bestest thoughts will be for a lap with NED found.

I'm generally a bit late for mine. Glad that it went well and that you are in good spirits. Doctors love to be reassured (I can tell with mine). xoxoxo Lynn

I debated over that one for at least 20 minutes. I really did like it! It was soooo adorable. Instead I went for the man holding the women close dancing titled "Promise" (Hold dear the promise of love) and the one with the little girl with her arms held out and doves resting on them titled "Happiness" (FREE to sing, laugh, dance...create!).
I have decided everytime I have to go to that hospital I will buy myself one. Unless I find they are way cheeper on e-bay!! In which case my collection may grow faster!!0 -

Thanks everyone for being happy with me! :O) Pammy
I feel so bad that you were apprehendsive about you appointment, but I'm really glad that everything went well and that you are doing everything you can to ensure you health. I have alot of questions to ask the Onco next Friday and one of them is about a hysterectomy. It really scares me to think about taking Tamoxi (whatever it is can't spell) I know that one of the side effects can be ovarian cancer. And that just doesn't make sense to me because it is so hard to DX. I want to ask about doing the same thing, when I'm done with all this I just want it to be over. I don't want to worry about another cancer. (kinda ranting there, I know it's been kinda a wierd week)
But have I told you lately how cute you are? Weel if I haven't let me tell you now. Life really seems to be treating you well, you looking younger every time I see you. (hehe)
Anyway glad your day went well, and everything is falling into palce for you.
AS always God bless,
Aurora0
