Pressure points
During my home health care, i had an excellent nurse who was originally from Taiwan. She showed me a pressure point on my hand that seems to work well for mild pain, and sometimes break-through pain. At least for me. It may work better for you. The spot is the soft area between your thumb and forefinger. She told me to tape a little bean there, and press on it with my other thumb, with my other forefinger pressing on the palm side of the hand. I never tried the bean, but it seems like a good idea. If nothing else, you can pinch so hard that the pain in your hand can distract you from the pain you originally had! But it does work!
Anything that will work, right?
Much luck with it!

Phil - You little pot pusher. I think you missed your calling. You should hang out at cancer centers with dime bags in your pocket.
